Finished Veteran, need help.

Just finished Veteran with my character. Finding the game VERY difficult.

I’m level 51, but almost everything kills me in 1 or 2 hits.

I took some screenshots of my character, maybe someone can give me some pointers as I’m really not sure how I’m going to manage in Elite.

I have Grimoire of Og Napesh and Savage for pets. Found a Plaguemancers amulet near the end. Field Medic badge came in handy for heals. Rest of the gear is mostly attributes and poison/acid damage.

This post is pointless and should just be deleted.

Well your health is roughly 4000 points lower than it ought to be.

You may want to consider investing in Physique with your pool of attribute points or start using Devotion to tank up.

He hasn’t even picked a class yet nor spent any devotion points. He is trolling, most likely reset his character using the Trainer.

._.

Or some next level twinking.

Dude, I mean, seriously, like, what the hell, like how did you beat Veteran WITHOUT CHOOSING A FUCKING CLASS AND SPENDING ANY DEVOTION POINTS?
If this is a troll post, then gr8 m8 i r8 8/8, if not, please read the game guide to understand how the game works.

You wound me, sir.

I thought the 406 deaths and 63 hour completion time would have lent some credence to my claim!

I wanted to see if I could beat it without spending a single point!

It was very hard. I had to skip Myla in the Bone Pit as her teleport attack made it impossible to fight her, but the rest was manageable with grit and fervour.

Well tbh beating Veteran is a cakewalk. I did it with only common items once. You can do whatever the hell you want.

All right then I apologize then, but you might want to atleast pick a class before going to Elite

As for this, this is my highest level character. The only twinking I did was when I finally gave up farming and transferred the three dread skull shards my conjurer had found to be able to finish crafting the savage relic. And that was at level 50. =/

Yeah, maybe, but whatever, I’m out.

-A ridiculous amount of kiting;

-Got Poison Bomb from mutagenic ichor near the start, found that worked quite well as you could spam it and everything died.

-Then I just started collecting gear that had +poison damage and + physique for equipping better gear.

-As soon as I’d gathered the components, upgraded to Noxious Poison Bomb and Poison Aura. The Noxious Poison Bomb is amazing, it confuses everyone while poisoning them to death.

-Continued to collect +physique and +spirit gear to equip better stuff while spamming poison bombs everywhere.

-Got a Mark of Dreeg, realised a nova attack was better than a poison buff aura, because apparently only different source poisons stack.

-Picked up the Grimoire of og Napesh and had to drop a LOT of poison % to get the 415 spirit to equip it, but boy was it worth it. Don’t think I would have got past Fort Ikon without that flame revenant tanking me.

-I had to re-gear slightly twice, first was the cultist boss before Fort Ikon, and a second time for Loghorrean himself. I just switched out the mark of dreeg for imbued silver for some chaos res.

-Just before Watchers Tomb I managed to finish the Savage relic so I had two pets tanking. I think I might have been able to finish it with just the one… but it was pretty bloody difficult as it was.

I am not sure why the fuck you would ever do that or how you had any fun doing it, but none the less I must congratulate you.

Now do it with 0 deaths

The why is simple. To be able to create a new character for a build by just copying his blank one, and to be able to just flat out start in Elite.

I mean, you usually just see people use a trainer/DL a character to do that, but he wanted the prestige of having EARNED it instead I guess.

What do you really earn?

Playing softcore and dying like a trillion times, what an achievement!

Crate should make softcore with limited lives, and not the whole “Grim Dawn is TOTALLY easy, even thoug i died a trillion times” and then limit the deaths to like 5, 10 or 20 at max, so people don’t “force” them through the game where they can’t survive.

Just like Hardcore, you just can’t blast through it all without just a little bit brain activity.

Humblebrag with a pinch of sarcastic arrogance. /not bad

“Look at me! I finished the entire normal without spending any skill/attribute/devotion points!” You deserve an achievement for that.

Finally, someone understands me
:o

I didn’t really think about the fact that at the end I was going to have a blank slate character until I got about halfway through and it started to get difficult and I started thinking how easy it would be if I just spent all these delicious points…

Now I’m done I don’t know what to do! Guess I’ll look up how to back up the character and try some buildz.

Why do you want people to play the game in YOUR way? Just stick to your hardcore and let it be, if someone wants to just play for the heck of it and not give a damn about how many times he dies, I see no reason to not let him.

I don’t want them to play it my way.

But it ain’t really an achievement to die many times, and yet claim a game is too easy, which many players state it is.

Because if a game is too easy you never die. So it just annoys me all the “big gamers” state a game is too easy, when in fact they are just too bad at the game since the need of infinite life to complete the game.

In the “old days of gaming” infinite lives was cheating, why is it not cheating these days?

Therefor I think limited lives would bring in another level of difficulty for the softcore players. So we don’t have same old rant about not having an endgame, and yet the players dies like flies and yet claims its all to easy…

the contradictions hurts my head…

Hmm, a pseudo-hardcore mode when you have limited lives but gain one life everytime you kill an Ultimate Nemesis? :stuck_out_tongue:
