Fire Strike is the most versatile LMB skill in the game. I suggest you be patient with it.

Fire Strike+Explosive Strike is good for single target + AoE

I can already tell demo is pretty darn versatile mastery.

btw, slightly off topic, how soldier would perform with this build as support mastery? What about res reduction with demo / soldier ?

Superfluff has a physical Commando that is very powerful at the moment.

well both those bombs seems to have the main purpes of stun/knock down. the damage may get decent at fully developed & alot of dmg% sure but thats alot of skill points for a second attack (if u not thinkin of kite alot)

Physical Commando? Ranged? With fire strike attack as main? I was just looking at the soldier and it starts to look really tempting BUT no lower resist might be a problem. Btw, Demo looks pretty self sustainable to me. Single target / aoe; teally good cc; some debuffs; some survivability…

imo just play with whatever feels fun. You can always respec later and tbh unless its a dot based class there is no point in trying to plan long term unless you have BiS gear. I made that mistake and made all these builds (now pointless), but if you don’t have the gear you will be slitting your wrists in ultimate.

Right now I’m focusing on caster builds as this is the gear I seem to be accumulating… as to staying on topic. Both abilities are viable, but I can vouch that FS is better. FB is straight up amazing.

I did get some equipment but wether or not its bis i have no idea although i have the Hellsomething 2h gun…hellbore *scratchhead…

i will see what 2h rifles i got with my single toon and let you guys know - maybe it can influence 2nd mastery choice???

Gosh…i dont have much time these days…kid mortgage job…and so many builds to try…

Btw is soldier a good second for FS based 2h rifle toon? How could i solve res problem?

This is what i got:
Hellborne, vortex of souls, harbinger of eternal suffering, thunderclap, empowered eye, sharpshooter bolt rifle.
Any good?

i also have 3 or 4 legendary 2handers so maybe one day forcewave physical build…

btw, firestrike will do ok in legendary? How does it compare to forcwave /dmg singletarget, dmg aoe/.

Is firestrike build heavily item dependant?

Can you make some bis recommendations depending on 2nd mastery? I have a few items stashed away.

Mmm… Why don’t you read this very board Jacko? Its all written in detail here already, you should go to build compendum and check everything fire strike rifle related that is no older than 1.005.

For this ranged 2h build /hellborne/ what is your opinion of:

  • OFF vs CoF - when i saw -100% fire res on off i went speechless…

  • inner focus vs blood of dreeg - i have no idea if % or flat OA would be better . I guess it will be item dependant a little. Bit here occultist looks better to me as EoD provides this life regen too.

I have no experience with neither arcanist nor occultist hence me asking. Most probably i will make a copy of savegame before the 2nd mastery choice and try both.

Bit i would like to know your opinion as it will help me determine what mastery to start with.

The -100% fire resist in OFF only works if the enemy gets frozen. It doesn’t work on enemies immune to freeze which is every boss, nemesis and i think heroes too. COF is much better because it works on every enemy.

for this build what would be the bets choice from devotions and maybe you could recommend some items that lower res?

Btw, his other statistics are: 3000 HP, 750 OA, 650 DA, 500-1000 DPS, all res 30-40% - rounded figures.

Flashbang is a life saver.

Killing speed slow. Bosses / champions are a nightmare.

You lack fire power by not having more points in Fire Strike…and lack a big chunk of your AOE by not having any points in Explosive Strike.

Flashbang has got to be one of my favorite skills.

I would back off a few pts in Brimstone and slide them into Explosive Strike. Ideally, you will want Fire Strike/Explosive Strike/Brimstone maxed.

Meh, you have to ask yourself what you would like your build to do. And, if you’re realistic about that, you can look at which masteries give you the abilities you’re looking for.

I was just fooling around and finally came up with my toon for this run - it will be a guy with 2 x pistol. With average guns his clearing speed was sped up significantly and besides i like the lore :slight_smile:

I ahve this belt that allows dualwielding guns but decided to craft gunslinger talisman.

One gun socketed with some fire relic and the other with haunted skill. Now I will look for devotons with skills hat proc on attack.

Unfortunately I have only some blue guns, not the recommended purple ones :frowning:

Where would be the best place to farm for deviltongue and exterminus?
