This is a druid build I am working on. No idea about what gear I should be aiming for but I feel this skill and devotions are ok. Any thing I can do to improve them? Any help is welcomed.
I have an ok skill build i feel. Can anyone submit a good devotion and skill build for a ranged 2h savagery buiild with wind devil and wendigo totem. I have a link for what I am looking for just seeing what people would give me from that idea.
If you have not played Ultimate before, know that things will not continue to be as easy for you as they are now. I’m sure some people can pull it off, but I am not comfortable with the lack of healing your setup has. Giant’s Blood and Healing Rain are both significantly better at healing than Wayward Soul (which is still ok, but not by itself). Spear of the Heavens provides a lot of Offensive Ability and bonus Lightning damage.
Hydra is irrelevant in my opinion. You will more than make up the Offensive Ability with Viper and Spear of the Heavens. Viper also reduces enemy Elemental resistance. For your final weapon, you will probably want Raka’Jax or Vortex of Souls. Hydra boost Pierce damage, which is negligible for Raka’Jax in the end and completely non-existent for Vortex of Souls. The flat Elemental damage boost of Hydra is only one-third Lightning, making it inconsequential compared to the bonuses of Viper and Spear of the Heavens.
You will not have the Pierce or Vitality bonuses at endgame to capitalize on Twin Fangs in my opinion. Neither of those will be able to be converted to Lightning, like Falcon Swoop. Now Falcon Swoop isn’t bad with sufficient damage conversion, but I think the pros of dumping it outweigh keeping it. The constellation itself gives bonuses to Physical and Bleeding, neither of which will be relevant endgame.
It’s totally possible to make a Bleed damage character with Savagery. I’ve even got one. You just need to invest in Bleed damage gear and devotions… and you’re not going to be doing that because you will be using Lightning gear and devotions. There is no synergy between Lightning and Bleed gear and devotions. If you want to use Savagery, you pick one or the other to focus on.
As for resistance reduction, I’ll be honest. I forget which kinds stack and which ones don’t. However, I don’t think that matters in this case. Viper’s resistance reduction applies to any enemy you hit with a weapon damage ability. Wind Devil’s resistance reduction applies only to the enemy it is currently hitting. It only lasts one second and gets re-applied with each hit. Once that Wind Devil moves on, the effect ends. Realistically, you will not always be shooting the enemy the Wind Devil is currently attacking, so you don’t have to worry about it stacking or not.
I see you really like Sailor’s Guide. When you get geared up, you’ll probably be swimming in Lightning resistance, so the value there would be the Cold Resistance and run speed, if you need those. Healing Rain’s big selling point is it’s fast recharge time versus its duration, giving it a lot of uptime. That said, your setup would probably be viable in Ultimate. That’s the beauty of Grim Dawn in my opinion: There are many valid choices and no one right way of doing things.
well i was trying to fit the tortoise on it but didnt have the points so went with sailor’s. i know i might be able to change some or switch around skills when i get the gear and stuff. just this is the guide i want to aim for.
Planning a build can be fun, but why not play until you hit Ultimate and THEN see what´s up? Build tend to fall apart and have to be overhauled once you hit Ultimate.
Exactly what happened to my dw piercing trickster
Swapped it to Bleed first and now going Lightning with dual Stormheart.
Next overhaul came when I tried Cruicible. Regen and totem is not enough for sustain (though it’s enough in vanilla), now stacking Aether Crystals to swap from Tree of Life and other stuff to lifesteal supported by Haunt curse with Life Leech resist reduction. Maybe it won’t work either
Why no Ultos Chest with +2 All Shaman Skills?
Also you’ll have hard time trying to have all res > 70 with this setup. Less than 50=instadeath when you meet enemy with such damage type, even in vanilla. And if you don’t cheat items it will be hard for you to get full set anyway so you should survive with what you got. And then you look like this instead of what you want: http://www.grimtools.com/calc/RZRkK4ND
Anyway, play and try. If something goes wrong respec and make it work.
