First character, notable feedback on my Blademaster?

http://grimcalc.com/build/4cRDMY

thats the build, devotions and all. i pretty much used the Nightblade tree to supplement my damage and survivability, and went mostly Soldier.

what i really am proud of is how Bull Rush is assigned to Ring of Steel/Circle of Slaughter. i intended to use that as a finishing move, but since the CD is so short well i usually spam it and keep it on CD.

i use Blade Spirit for stragglers and its great at sweeping up behind me.

if im focused on a enemy Hero, between Blade spirit and using force wave multi-directionally–for trash–before i am in any real danger i am one-on-one with the Hero/Heros.

i really enjoy using this build and the game in general.
curious as to what the community could point out about my build

And describe you stat distribution?

Physique: 990

this at lvl 73, i plan to go forward with the build i posted.

It feels really good, im tanky and i can kill stuff too, probably thanks to the Kraken. i cannot face nemesis bosses yet though, i ended up nemesis with Cronleys gang because of all the dynamite farming i did, i got my ass handed to me!

fyi i do not play with my UI that large lol, that was for the screen shot

Why did you take 12/12 Elemental Awakening? With the same amount of points you could get from Field Command / Squad Tactics:

  • 8 OA and DA
  • 2% Armor
  • 42% All damage
  • 9% AS

I believe it’s mainly for the elemental resists, but if so then are you using the Rover’s ring/amulet augment? If not, you can put these and take those skill points from EA.

Also, if you don’t mind me asking, why 3/10 Veil of Shadow and 4/12 Phantasmal Armor? Veil is really good since it can proc “on attack” by itself even with 1 point, but I don’t understand why 3 points. And Phantasmal Armor is for the pierce resistance, I believe? It’s probably the best thing there, apart from the energy leech/absorb, in case you are running short of it.

All in all, if you are killing stuff and having fun, then you are already 90% on the way to success.

12/12 EA was for the resists, i was thinking about preparing for my Ultimate run when i took those. I currently have poison resist/retaliation on for jewelry augments.

i must consider field command/squad tactics, i dont know how i overlooked that actually, i’m a fiend for attack speed with two-handers.
thank you! because now i have a go-to if i decide i’m not doing enough damage down the line

i used phantasmal armor because i was running out of energy from using Ground Stomp (item). i put points in one at a time until i felt it was potent enough. i did the same with Veil and Pneumatic Burst.

if your’e advice is that: 1 point is Veil is good enough, then those are the first points i’ve freed up towards my missed attack speed in Squad Tactics, lol

Perhaps i don’t need phantasmal armor anymore, ill have to see, i recognized that Ground Stomp was steep on energy cost, but have since upgraded from those boots, now im using Decapitate from the Whetstone.

No problem hahaha. I love AS and the best thing about it is that you can always reduce your damage to balance things out.

If you are running out of energy I would leave 1 point at PA, just for the energy absorb. Investing more points would only be worth if you really need the pierce resist, imo.

1 point if Veil is only good if you intend to keep it for “on attack” procs. If not, then you either max it for the OA and slow or don’t spend points at all (imo leaving it at 1/10 is still worth it).

I forgot to mention this before, but consider maxing PB on the long run, for the total speed and heal. If you want to get the most of the total speed, leave it at 10/12, since the last 2 points gives only 2%.

thanks for the great advice, thats the kind of insight i was looking for coming to the forum. the kind of stuff that isnt readily apparent on a first time through, yaknow? i had no idea that veil had on attack procs. i though it just debuffed everything in my general vicinity, lol.

ill repost at 85 or while running Ultimate, whichever comes first.

–it will take me a bit tho because season 6 just started for D3. (ive already caught hell for mentioning Diablo on this forum so dont trollz me)

Yeah, I discovered that while running with the Devil’s Headguard in town and watching the dummy getting hit by itself… really weird. I still need to test if the tick from Night’s Chill can crit and trigger on critical % procs, I will probably test it now lol

I wish my internet was half decent to make D3 enjoyable though hahaha. Play the game at your own pace, that’s the (only) right way to play.
