Upon starting the game/save, my fishing shacks all set to 0 resources even though the custom locations stay in place for where the fishermen fish. It says the villagers are “Looking for Shore” until I slightly move one of the locations for the fishing areas. Once I do that, all of the fishing areas return to normal. This happens every time I load the game.
What happens if you wait a little bit for the fish to initialize? Sometimes there’s a little delay, but it shouldn’t require moving the work area.
It seems to work after a few minutes most times, but there have been two instances where it didn’t load for like 10+ minutes so I moved one of the work radius circles, which fixed the issue instantly.
I am having the same problem. I red icon will go away after about 15 seconds, but the Fisherman are still “Looking for Shore”. I waited a hole year game rotation, and the Fishing hut are not producing any fish! I have tried reloading the game, moving the fishing spots and even relocating the fishing hut, but nothing has changed.
Note: I do not know if this is the only cause of the problem, but if the fishing spots are touching at all, even just one of them, it seems to be causing the issue for all of them.
I have found that the number of fish is much lower than it should be or perhaps the fish are being caught very fast? Not sure but my bodies of water run out of fish very quickly and are then “out of fish” for in-game years before returning.
While I agree that an endless supply of fish would definitely be exploited, can the number of fish be increased? There are times when I have just one fishing shack on a body of water and it still runs out of fish. Food for thought. No pun intended.
i m on 0.7.5d and the shack is ok. started 3 towns by now on D patch and it works ok.
It does seem like the 0.7.5d patch fixed this, I don’t see the issue occurring anymore.
