Devotions Order:

  • Yellow > Tortoise > Remove Yellow >

  • Eel > Sailor’s Guide > Lizard >

  • Lion > Dryad > Solemn Watcher >

  • Purple > Red > Green > Jackal > Toad >

  • Behemoth > Remove Jackal > Remove Green >

How to Level

Since the above build is an endgame build, use the information provided below for leveling.

Attributes:

Everything into Physique, except for when you need to invest into Cunning or Spirit to meet the required stats for equipping items.

Leveling:

There are primarily 2 ways to go. Either focus on Occultist first or Shaman first. I would suggest going with Occultist first since it is more closer to the final setup than Shaman regarding devotions and such.

Occultist:

We will be focusing on Hellhound, Familiar and Elemental Damage. Since we are going for a Conjurer, it is recommended that you put enough points in Shaman early on, to get a 16/16 Briarthorn before going back to focus on the Occultist Side.

Devotions:

  • Purple Crossroads > Shepherd’s Crook > Remove Purple

  • Green Crossroads > Raven > Rhowan’s Crown > Remove Green

  • Blue Crossroads > Eel > 4 points in Amatok (for Blizzard)

  • Yellow Crossroads > Tortoise > Remove Yellow

  • Sailor’s Guide > Crane > Panther > Solemn Watcher

  • Ishtak + 4 points in Tree of Life (for Healing Rain)

Skills:

  • Lvl 10 – 16/16 Familiar, 1/16 Mend Flesh.

  • Lvl 20 – 16/16 Hellhound, 1/10 Curse of Frailty, 7/10 Vulnerability, 1/16 Blood of Dreeg, 1/12 Storm Spirit.

  • Lvl 30 – 5/10 Curse of Frailty, 10/10 Vulnerability, 1/12 Ember Claw, 16/16 Blood of Dreeg.

  • Lvl 40 – 12/12 Lightning Strike, 1/12 Aspect of the Guardian, 7/12 Bonds of Bysmiel.

  • Lvl 50 – 12/12 Manipulation, 1/12 Infernal Breath.

  • Lvl 60 – 12/12 Bonds of Bysmiel, 12/12 Possession.

  • Lvl 70 – 12/12 Storm Spirit, 12/12 Aspect of the Guardian.

  • Lvl 80 – 12/12 Ember Claw, 12/12 Infernal Breath.

  • Lvl 90 – 10/10 Curse of Frailty, 16/16 Mend Flesh.

  • Lvl 94 – Respec as needed, according to the build you are going for.

Shield can be farmed from the merchant Agarrad – Tormented Soul in Port Valbury. Use the Vendor reset trick where you move to a different area of the dungeon, wait a few seconds and then go back to the merchant for different items, to get the ideal shield.

Hello there, im considering building this. Looks amazing. Knew this since forever and it’s time i should have a lazy pet build i think.

My questions are :

  • How important is Wendigo Totem here? I find it a bit clunky on pets (had a Skeleton ritualist before). Might consider putting those points to Storm Spirit instead. But do i lose so much? Pets already seem to have tons of hp regen and devotion heals.
  • Is Aether and Chaos overcaps a problem here? Never played a build with only 5-8% ish overcap only before.

Thanks.

Wendigo Totem is needed for Facetanking Callagadra, but can be ignored otherwise.

Aether and Chaos overcaps are only noticeable at SR 120+

Thanks for reply. So you’re confirming the pets already have good sustain without it? I’m thinking i might just put those points to Storm Spirit and change one of those Spellscourged platings, or do something similiar.

No, Totem is for keeping the player alive. Pets will die regardless.

Is swapping from the bysmiel medal to the beastcaller medal an option? Guess more wondering the benefit of 2 familiars over 2 briarthorns

If you wish to go with 2 Briarthorns, it is better to do so with a different build.
This one is built around Familiars.

What is the benefits of mark of the illusions on the rings over something like topaz or something else? All the iterations of this build i see using the marks and i must be missing something? Any ideas?

Btw love the build, big fan!

Mark of Illusions provide mana regen.
Topaz can however be used instead according to preference.

New patch, new record - SR 140 done Ayy

( 0 deaths and 0 restarts, so it was a pretty good run, even with those mutators )

If anyone is looking for my strongest build and dont mind farming the green Shield, look no further.

Hi Maya, where is the best place to farm the shield?

you can buy it from the merchant in PV, and use the reset to trick to get a decent one

reset to trick? Do you mean exit the game and run PV again? Sorry still kind of new to grim dawn and don’t know all the tricks.

go back to previous area, wait … how many seconds? And try merchant again. Saves skeleton keys
