Wrong thread. Trolls are only being used to bump the “My Exotic Personal Builds” thread.
Not needed here, ty.
It’s clear that everyone who points out your gross mistakes and your complete incompetence in the game mechs are all trolls. My advice: try to really learn the game and be a little more polite when someone wastes their time trying to teach you.
Oh no, playing the game can take hours!
You can also start Ultimate whenever you want. You don’t have to unlock anything on lower difficulties. If you use mandates you can get the rep up to revered with all factions in one play through of ultimate.
If you really don’t want to play the game you can use an … dare I say… editor
Reminder for everyone.
So guy is downplaying actual builder’s builds because of “editor” but levels and gets most of his loot in multiplayer, which is basically a super easy mod in GD because game’s difficulty is balanced around single player.
Automator, your OP suggestion is. very, very big change and can influence everyone’s game enjoyment overall to worse if not better.
Maybe you think granting all stuff from the rock would seem nice at first but ultimately it’s gonna make the game so easy and probably no one will get enjoyment because, imagine if that would be the case… people will think why even bother leveling the old-school way if we can eat rock that instantly gives us everything, so it kinda becomes forced duty.
It also creates many problems if mandates and warrants are “global”, right? Cuz’ not everyone wants to meet Nemesis quicker, instead later… and being revered with Outcast and Borrowholm and kymon/order… it would be a huge mess for devs and players.
If not mistaken with all the items (lokarr, Love Rings, potion elixir, Wilhelm amu etc) you can go from lvl 1 to 94 in like less than a day if u play non-stop. If you really hate leveling like me (and that’s probably why you gave this kind of suggestion), really - just use the damn editor.
i think Protoss guide is down to like 6hours now? - and i’m sure there is some "speedrunner"type person that can optimize it even more to less time than that
On an alt you can run ultimate out of the gate if you know what you’re doing. It’s good that it retains at least a hint of challenge. Padding new characters with 55 devo points is unnecessary.
Please see:
So, you mean to tell me that we choose a faction and only then does its warrant or mandate get applied right after?
Then how does the “unlocking all factions” idea work… excluding them?
Warrants are a separate suggestion. If you use one it would apply to every character like recipes. It’s easy to hand them down, but unnecessary like the old potion system.
Factions unlocked via choice could be chosen on application of a Merit. When you reach the choice quest you could change your mind using the existing system. Might be difficult to program idk, so leaving choice factions normal is fine.
Another way would be to vastly increase all rep gain after using a Merit. That could cover devotion skills as well. If no given dev points, your last (newest) level 0 devotion skill would max very fast so you wouldn’t end up lvl 100 with a level 0 devotion. Better to have 55 on Merit and level them normally for balance imho.
I slightly reworded op to better communicate my suggestions.
I don’t get the suggestions for rep gain. It was already vastly increased and while it might have been a bit slow in the past it’s totally fine right now.
As is, starting a new toon I level-up on first quests in Ultimate then go back to run mains (unlock factions) and grab shrines on easy. I would not start Ultimate any other way.
In fact I only came back to the game upon learning all ports were unlocked using a merit. It made it bearable anyway.
I have never been a fan of racing to the end in any game, but don’t like busywork. Heck, I made a game that took the Mine out of Minecraft.
How does any of that have anything to do with rep gain?
If you don’t like playing through the campaign, use an editor to set everything to max.
If you do like playing through the campaign, use a mandate for the relevant factions and you’ll be mostly fine with one ultimate playthrough.
I am always trying to understand unpopular opinions before I “downplay” them like most of the audience but that is nature.
Sadly, even after understanding the concept. It would be too big of a mess for programmers and players alike to enjoy, resulting in - creating a problem that didn’t exist in the first place.
Don’t let this stop you Automator from recommending any other ideas tho, though some of my ideas and a few other people’s also do not go through, however, what I recommend also doing is thinking it through if it’s logical change not only for yourself but others as well.
There is this very popular idea of creating an infinite stash (like Last Epoch, I guess… only a few good things about that game) in Grim Dawn and I would love that too but not everyone, so we have only a few options, either hoping it will get a bit bigger (not infinite tho) or using a tool for stashing all those items, basically a compromise.
By this example what I gave u above, I only want to tell you that not all things get approved but that’s only normal. Also I dunno much about the devs themselves but, hurting their “baby” (xD so to say) is a risky move… they have done so much and still do to satisfy many players, going above and beyond. I don’t believe that everything that is in the game is how high-ends imagined their own game to turn out and by that, I meant they also had to adapt to compromises for the others.
lol you finally got me, nice. I thought you were actually asking a question. There should be an achievement.

They don’t have time/interest in the rest.

Hey dev’s, just started a new hardcore run with a very seasoned gamer. He agreed fully that the Ultimate Merit should give 55 devotion points.
Anyone who says otherwise never played Ultimate from lvl 0, no shared stash, and without cheats as you no doubt picked up already.
It’s the funnest way to play the best game. We are now running shrines in easy after the first insta-death.
