Full Stop Mod Gameplay Request

Apologies if this post is in a wrong area. I had previously posted this thread but I didn’t wish to necro it.

My toons frequently do jiggy-dances whilst collecting damage because they cannot help but follow the imperative to keep moving to whatever clicked point. In cramped corridors or on steps this can be death as they do slapstick running back-and-forth to accomodate mouse clicks… and then die.->

Crate are swamped with FG, xbox version, new game, etc. So I thought I’d try to reach out to the enterprising mod community in hopes that someone may be able to incorporate something like this in.

I imagine that global code may be beyond the scope of dev tools available but maybe someone can do this?

Go to Options Menu —> Keybinding —> Move.

I got this bound to a thumb button on my mouse.

Move basically makes your toon chase your mouse pointer. I think 85% of my character movements are done using this.

Try it, might help with your problem.

@tsuelue: Yeah, that’s not really what I was looking for though as I would need to hold down whatever button constantly.

Have you tried pressing [shift] in these situations as that’s the key to stand still and not move?

@Jaknet: I use [shift] all the time -check out my earlier posts -esp. very last entry.

So instead of asking Crate or anyone inside, I thought I would ask to see if any modders outside Crate would have any idea on how to implement this.

Judging from the responses I am guessing this is something to add to my list of never-happening-stuff. Sigh.

It’s not something we can mod in, you’d have to use some kind of external tool like autohotkey

@ASYLUM101: Ah that makes sense. I figured that it would take actual gameplay engine code (Crate stuff) to make it work but I thought I would ask anyway to see if somebody here had any ideas.

You’re right though - external 3rd party app running ontop of, taking precedence over clunky engine calls (such as autohotkey) sounds like about the only decent workaround.

Thx!

I was thinking of a possible workaround. Using an external program, something like autohotkey, you could keybind a simulated left click at the center of the screen (where the player is always located). This should cancel any movement. The only problem would be if enemies were close enough that the simluated click may be misinterpreted as a left-click attack.

If you need more help creating the script, let me know here.
