seriously lol; one accidental hit and im dead through overguard and pots. hitting a reflection mob with IT damage seems to be a one shot every time unless it’s somewhere with really damn good lighting and i can see it a mile off.
I usually don’t have too much trouble spotting reflect mobs (and it helps that I already know what most of them are) but an IT reflect can fuck you pretty hard, yes. Consider having the Ulo devotion proc handy for that situation.
How about building for it? Like reflect dmg reduction? Or phyz resistance? Or both. There is plenty of reflect dmg reduction in the game, use it!
this is through 40% physical resist. the damage is just too high, it’s enough to kill me 4-5 times over, i don’t have the gear to heal through that.
in outside zones it’s never an issue, but in BoC where mobs are huge and overlap and it’s dark, i have trouble where somebody turns on an aura and gets hit with the tail end of forcewave. they could be at the very edge of my screen. still dead
just funny that IT is so effective (melting everything like butter) but also the absolute BEST build for one-shotting yourself lol.
It’s only easy to kill yourself with the Octavius build. Other trauma builds lack the duration bonus so you usually survive until it runs out.
Actually, ppl can kill themselves even without Octavius providing their physical resistance is low and they have high criticial multipliers. This is because IT doesn’t check armour values, ofc.
In another thread I pointed out this problem for the Avenger set which is (in my opinion, at least) one of the worst lvl. 94 sets currently in the game. The weapon converts 50% lightning into physical so if you happen to use savagery + Blade Arc, you are practically forced to take Ulo in order to survive. My solution was to 1) put some physical resistance on the chest and shoulders; and 2) make the set a hybrid physical/bleed/pierce set and buff Briathorn + Emboldening Roar. This would make the set more interesting, instead of a bad copy of Octavius and Bloodrager.
Anyway, for ppl who really want to avoid destroying themselves to IT crits, Ulo + Watcher are their best friends. Octavius shield is also a good friend, but some unorthodox IT builds might want to go for other things (physical caster Deceiver, for example)…
Probably where the matter lies, don’t you think ? It’s just impossible to cap and hard to come close. I admit than my physical builds suffer from reflect more than others.
but you’re right about dmg reflect reduction, it’s a must have for those builds.
Actually demand on everything is pretty high in my opinion. We cant have everything… Demands are really very high. High to almost every possible stat in game. If we talking about ultimate. As I mentioned somewhere else, it is on the verge… Just my opinion of course.
Have you tried turning it off and then on again?
yeah i’m using full stoneguard + full octavius atm, and my toon is pretty damn tough, but v high block chance/damage + 15k hp currently is nowhere near enough to soak my own damage
like i said usually i can avoid this, i just don’t like how in BoC someone can switch it on off-screen and i hit them and bleed out before i ever see the orange spikes.
same w my 2H warder, her dmg is insane now, but going full bloodrager + 2pc avenger, so reflect mobs combine IT + bleed on her and all it takes is one hit.
turning what off and on again?
Previously I had asked what the cap on reflected damage reduction is and no one answered. But if it’s 80% and you manage to reach 80% RDR then you can essentially treat IT as a primary damage type insofar as reflection is concerned. Getting past 80% resistance would involve stacking whatever physical resistance you can, which stacks multiplicatively with RDR.
There is still the problem of duration reduction however. Poison and bleeding builds have plenty of sources of duration reduction, but IT pretty much only has Aeon’s Hourglass for constant partial reduction and Ulo for intermittent full reduction. Ulo is not reliable if you’ve killed all enemies on the screen and need it triggered immediately.
How much reflected damage reduction?
I’m guessing it’s this.
What does IT stand for please?

very funny but still not informative
Internal Trauma

Inquisitor Seal also works for reflected IT damage.
The DoT reflect ticks are absorbed by Seal per tick. Maxed base skill at 12/12 works quite well. My Tactician doesn’t worry much reflect hits now with just standing on Seal. I find that I don’t even need Overguard, although it’s nice you can combo them.
I’ve also been using Mythical Sigil of the Bear King for the Reflected Damage Reduction, over Mythical Mark of Kalastor. You also get Crit damage multipliers on IT Forcewave specs, which is a nice side benefit.
Everybody known about it.
