Gaining a personal base

Yup its me again with more most likely useless ideas but hey at least one has gotta be good at some point right…

This idea gives the player a more direct change in the world, as you progress you can come across certain npcs that can help you build your own fort/base. The further you go in the more it builds up and the more NPC’s come and join you. You can hire guards provide space for merchants and blacksmiths and even refugees.

With all this you can use the people around you so maybe send a troop out on patrol to clear up some monsters thus gaining you some xp and iron.

Refugees could be sent out on scavenging hunts bringing back gear, mats and stuff.

It could also be that every now and then it get attacked by different factions.

Again just ideas im throwing out there.

I see you are a fellow fan of Pillars of Eternity then?
I dont know if it would be feasible though, considering how we upgrade and populate Devil’s Crossing already

I’d love this
+1

I must admit i have never played POE is it any good lol

You might check out this forum section and see that you are not the first and not the only one to suggest this (not me, by the way).

Obviously, I support this greatly. The system is already in the game, at least for things like Fort Ikon/Devil’s Crossing/Burrwitch/Homestead reconstruction.

Any new additions to this like faction wars and such, will, of course, add more depth and value to gameplay too.

Crate is working on a Grim Dawn spin-off game, I’d bet it will look similar to what the OP described
