The depletion will occur gradually, depending on the amount of energy you have (the more energy you have, the longer the depletion process will take, which makes sense). No one is stopping you from charging at an enemy hero that will burn your energy when it hits you and defeating it first, as you usually do with mythical heroes. I don’t agree. In some cases, if not most, the absence of auras can mean the death of our character if we don’t jump out of the encirclement of a crowd of enemy heroes in time. In SR, I faced such problems when I didn’t notice a mythical hero, and he removed my auras, almost causing my death in a matter of seconds.
you can’t tell which enemies does, because it’s just a stat, not a class tag so you have no clue who to prioritize, so you don’t notice until your energy is gone or if you’re really attentive see the blue teeth debuff icon

Have you noticed enemy heroes with different icons above their heads? The same can be done with new heroes that burn our energy. And it will be quite noticeable.

Point of order, I actually miss when players had access to Energy Leech/Burn. I always felt like it was a “cool” tool in the players’ arsenal to be able to turn off certain enemy abilities by burning their energy into the ground, such as a Chthonian Harbinger’s on-death explosion. Building around it was always fun - until you found a reflective enemy and got a taste of your own medicine.
But by that very same train of thought, it’s evident enough why burning players’ energy must be done sparingly. The game is very literally unplayable when it happens.
And this is very strange, because this is to some extent already in the game, it’s just that it is either almost not found, or it is, but we don’t notice, because the game is so easy that we don’t even have time to look at the screen and we all look at the health bar of enemies. And what happens under it no one cares. I noticed this trend, on this forum, people only ask that the developers simplify something. And if I suggest something that will make the game a little more difficult, but won’t affect anything in general, they will consider it a disaster. you keep mistaking/confusing challenge and fun with inconvenience/annoying/boring non difficulty
adding sleep/making sleep a 4th stun doesn’t make the game harder, it makes it more annoying, you just stack 80 sleep res and keep getting disrupted 20%, just like the others, this adds 0 difficulty and only tedium
Adding more energy leech is the same, it either adds tedium or nothing, because you either get a ravager of flesh scenario all the time, which just pointlessly penalizes a lot of builds so they’re forced into ex Scales devo, which still counters it (like ravager), or it adds nothing because other builds have low energy cost/high regen, and or energy leech res becomes more abundant so it’s meaningless…
if you want to add challenge/depth/difficulty, i’d suggest you find and make such suggestions instead, because these are not that. And as others have explained in detail should be obvious why it’s not challenge/difficulty increasing…
I meant the stun, freeze, etc. Wasn’t even talking about energy drain, though that also is just not fun. Energy is a bonus on top of something, it’s a required resource to perform your attack, so without it you basically can’t do anything. It’s ok that we need to take into account regen/absorb here and there for it, but it’s not acceptable to ever run out.
