I’m new to the game (less than a month) and I’m looking into getting a laptop that can handle the game. I’ve speced out an Acer VN7-592G-77LB Intel Core i7 6700HQ (2.60 GHz) NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M 16 GB DDR4 Memory 256 GB SSD 1 TB HDD Windows 10 Home 64-Bit 15.6" IPS FHD Gaming Laptop.
I’ve been playing on a 2 year old desktop and I had to lower the video settings to make the gameplay bearable. I’d like to have a system that can run it at the higher settings, but not necessarily the highest settings across the board.
If the laptop can’t handle the game, then I’ve wasted my money.
You really need the mobility of a laptop? Otherwise I would suggest a pc. If you need the mobility, then please ignore this part of my comment
Have you checked out the newer laptops with the new NVidia gpus? Those gpus are the same as in desktops, only clocked down a bit. I don’t know what your budget is, but in my country, there are MSI laptops with a 1060 for around 1500 euro.
Thanks very much for the reply. Unfortunately, I don’t have a dedicated space at home for a desktop, so I need the mobility of the laptop. It will also serve as an additional work computer.
I’m upgrading to the Nvidia 1060 MSI laptop to be safe.
Modern gaming mini-PC is barely bigger then gaming laptop honestly. GTX 1060 is good choose, but don’t forget about good CPU. Gaming laptops often have a mid-level CPU at best (2 cores + HT, low frequencies, etc.) so be careful with choosing a laptop.
get a ASUS ROG G752VS-XB72K
17.3 inch IPS 1920 x 1080
2.7 GHz Intel Core i7-6820HK
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 8GB DDR5
1 TB 7200RPM + 256 GB SSD/32GB DDR4 RAM
Have a look http://pc4u.org/best-gaming-laptop/
Thanks for all the info. I pushed the button on an Nvidia GeForce 1060 with an Intel i7 processor. Only a 15" screen, but I’ve heard the larger ones can get toasty.
Cheers.
I want to Ironman with my Arcanist Aether ray, but my system isn’t smooth enough! I guess I’ll have to just Magic Missile a little longer.
