Global flat working twice for DW and once for 2H needs a radical solution

I meant only for active player attacks, maybe even limiting it for DARs, not for every single dmg source that has %WD on it

Increasing the effect of flat on 2H (say, by 50%) or just increasing base weapon damage values seems like the easiest solution.

I actually disagree. It allows creating dedicated sets of gear for Celestials for example. Get yourself a set with Lightning resist rolls and laugh at everything Mogdrogen does.

Yeah, because you need this crutch for such a difficult boss as Mogdrogen… Come on…
Resistances are already trivial and should not be trivialized more. Ascended affixes should be better than just slapping on some res. That is just lazy design.

There are a lot of 2h weapons in the game that are actually intended for spam casting a spell with %WD to benefit from high 2h base dmg, like for example spectral crossbow. I think this solution (and also further increases in base dmg) will massively overpower all of those.

Fair, that I do agree with, rolling resistances on your ascended item is pretty much just a resource tax in 99% of cases because you’re going to want to re-roll.

I’d be wary with blanket buffs like ‘just double the flats kek’ as we currently have 2h melee builds dealing some absurd damage - the 6s Ravager kill coming to mind. Sure there’s a lot of OP elements all combined into that build but it’s there.

2h components or a slight TDM added somewhere (Hell maybe even Kraken) could be tested for starters.

deja vu thread

That happens when things are not fixed

The real radical solution would be to stop DW double-dipping global flat. Would probably give a certain other thread a 100 more replies to go.

I can agree with the simple resist rolls on regular armor pieces, those can and definitely should go.

But I meant the extra max resistance rolls you can get on non-armor slots. You can bring your desired resistance cap to nearly 100% if you want to target farm something.

I get the sentiment that rolling a resistant bonus is not what you’re looking for nevertheless it has it’s value. This might open another item slot for a better item in your stash since you fixed that resist’s issue that way. With current cost of upgrading items, it’s still a net bonus nevertheless

I compared PB tooltips with this crossbow + 3 piece Demonslayer vs full Demonslayer with green oh that adds +8% wd to PB (very generous bonus, thanks Zantai) and tooltip was practically the same. Only difference is that crossbow adds two blades.

so if 2 extra blades ~= +1 blade spirit summon then adding 15-20% TDM to the crossbow will make it significantly better

That I don’t know. But you reminded me that Crate removed extra blades from Demonslayer and nerfed it a couple of times and now it doesn’t even hold a candle to FoA top builds.

I am currently working on a component mod and this very subject is something that I’m dealing with and have to consider.

For example, putting the same component in a dual wield set of weapons doubles all the benefits and bonuses, plus doubles any process skills. If you put just one component in a two-handed weapon, great, this character has an unfair disadvantage.

So what I’ve done to keep a close balance is restrict the items that the components can go into, and for proc skills, I am creating skills that will only work with 2h weapons. If there’s a one-handed version of that skill, it is less than half as effective.

One must also be careful with attack speeds as well as OA boosts.

The way i see it, 2H bonuses must include attack speed and resistances to counter the advantage that DW characters. Plus 2H-only skills, whether from Devotions or “off-skills” (in the skill tree), help to keep the fairness between the two playing styles.
