Grim Dawn 1.0.0.7 Hotfix 2

Can’t wait for !

I’ve gone from the start of Ultimate to the Warden’s stash before I got a legendary and that’s clearing a lot of stuff and all quests on the way , the drop rate is abysmal 670 hours in and 1 marko set dropped for me 0 Ultos and on and on with 0 on a lot of set items I need , seems to be the same gear over and over , sick of it tbh , for a loot game it’s a bit on the crappy side .

Plus the only reasonable chance to get a legendary between homestead and fort ikon may be Karroz ? if it’s your first run , I’ve certainly gone that distance a number of times with 0 drops . RNG is a biatch in this game .

How about in addition to RNG:

the game checks for the type of weapons/skills you’re using(as in: how many skill points you’ve invested) and every once in a while, it will drop something closer(yellow and upwards) to your build or even level. Of course, it’s nice to be encouraged to try other builds but I sure would appreciate drops that’re more relevant.

I know the developers want people to experiment and play around. However, especially for newbies and those who haven’t touched an ARPG in years, getting pushed around here and there might just stop them from completing the game. 'Cos it can be very overwhelming and if not, frustrating. ><

If you’ve only found one legendary before the Warden on Ultimate, then I recommend exploring more.

I think people still run straight to bosses because for some reason (wrong one) they believe trash mobs don’t drop any legendaries.

I can’t emphasize this enough. Trash mobs probably would drop twice as many legendaries than any of those challenge dungeon transcendant chests. Atleast they do for me.

That’s true… for me. I remember getting tons of blues off random mobs. For bosses, it can take forever to get to them, too. By the time you’re done, sometimes you gained a few levels you didn’t mean to.

Hmm, want my advice then run rifts. If you can’t handle BoC or SoT then i’d say run the rift in Plains of Strife. I get 3-4 legendaries on each run minimum

Rifts? Haha I’m a newbie though… still in Act 2 (Normal mode) and about to make it into Broken Hill. I don’t even know if choosing Kymon will break the steps of Torment quest or that necromancer quest (where I killed those Undercity Oligarchs).

Your faction choice will have no impact on those quests.

What? Why not?

Because if choosing the wrong faction prevented you from ever getting a Skeleton key on that char (Without knowing some secrets…), that’d kinda blow.

On my first character it took until just before Cronley on ultimate to see a legendary drop and I am a completionist. Hell, I can’t even remember when the last time I saw a legendary drop outside of the crucible; the vast majority of my gear comes from hitting up the celestial smith and running crucible.

That’s just bad RNG for you then. After 50 devotion points, i still hunt down remaining shrines. And sometimes they give me a free legendary.

My shitty PC crashes sometimes, so i don’t run BoC or SoT unless i don’t mind loosing the key. So i usually do the Bane’Gagroth rift in Plains of Strife (Obsidian Throne/Forsaken Wastes rift) and it rains legendaries for me.

I would have just preferred a quick hotfix.

Rather than waiting weeks with a semi-functional char. being lead to believe a fix is coming and waiting to respec again to unfix the refixxed broken fix.

What fix are you waiting on that makes your character semi-functional?

1.0.0.8 will be here sooner than you think.

Probably the primal strike bug. It’s rather brutal, especially in the low levels.

What does it do?

Torrent can’t hit the initial targets at all. This causes it to fail to chain for ranged builds, and kills melee build clear speeds at lower ranks of primal strike. You can easily test it on a new character by putting 1 point in primal strike, leveling the transmutor, and maxing Torrent. For a melee target, you will do about 40 damage, then the Torrent bolts will fly out doing like 400+ to everything else in range. For ranged, if the target is too far, you won’t even get torrent bolts at all.

It’s rather major, and really hurts a low +ranked primal a lot. Primal’s third node is already relatively weak, losing the second node too is an absolute major loss.

Torrent not striking the main target is intended, and if it ever behaved differently (don’t recall, but maybe?), then that was a bug.

Its behavior with Ranged weapons was an issue for a long time though, and that is fixed in 1.0.0.8.

It did behave differently…for over a year.

I noticed that even the skill description changed (“a nearby target” which is not necessarily the main target) so that there’s no conflict between its present behavior and the description text.

Well, this is a bummer…
