Nah, they are usually a couple hours late, no biggie… which is why this wait is unusual, but they did have some problems with files recently so I guess more time is needed for them to do their check up
Hell, no! I own GD both on steam and gog but actually ever play the gog one. I like their old school philosophy
Sorry for the delay, but unfortunately we’re still waiting to even get a reply from GOG regarding the loyalist pack.
At this point, we’ve stuck with GOG because we listed Grim Dawn on there all those years ago to fulfill our DRM-free Kickstarter promise but, frankly, these kinds of frustrations paired with Steam’s dominance in market share makes it difficult for us to justify listing future games on GOG.
Update: as you can see in later comments, the issue has been resolved. Enjoy!
You have a different experience to me. They’ve been late with patch and games updates a few times. I’m talking days, not hours, which I can live with. Obviously I can wait for it to be posted since it isn’t game impacting but still, it’s more than a little annoying
I’m not a fan of Steam so GOG used to be a good choice. Now not so much. I’ll forgive Crate if you add this exact model in to the next game update being released later this year, or the next loyalist pack, which ever comes first. How can you not include this warrior - she has both a gun and a sword, as well as other outstanding …qualities
Either that or a dragon. There should be dragons … My vote is for the warrior princess though …
Aww, please don’t abandon GOG for future projects. I abhor Steam’s subscription system.
I bought the Loyalist Pack 3 on GOG right now and I’ll buy Asterkarn when it becomes available. I don’t mind waiting a few days.
I understand your frustrations, but please, PLEASE do not abandon GOG! Many GOG users, including myself, keep providing feedback to GOG that they need to improve their communications and response time to developers.
I choose to buy on GOG, because I do not like this modern practice of binding games (and other media) to accounts and launchers. I prefer to buy games and have access to them, even if the store/platform hosting them burns down the next day, same as it was with physical media and brick & mortar stores.
GOG user base may be smaller than Steam’s, but that does not mean that it should be abandoned. While this may not apply to everybody, some people only buy games from DRM-Free-focused stores that offer offline installers, similar to how others only buy on Steam. Please continue casting a wide net to appeal to a broader audience.
It’s not just about DRM, it’s about ease of archiving. I do not want to rely on Steam to reinstall my games, nor do I want to start zipping up DRM-Free Steam games in an installed state, while trying to keep track of every potential dependency that they may need. I’d rather pay GOG to do it all for me.
Indeed. Better a delayed GOG release than no release at all.
Shout out to artists for making the outfits so modular. All the over the top shinies are isolated to specific pieces, allowing the rest of the sets to be used for more subtle combinations. Awesome.
Finally got the latest loyalist pack from GOG. They were thoughtful enough to include a survey to provide feedback. Hopefully they do something with the feedback. I basically said they need to provide updates and new releases at the same time as Steam does. I don’t use GOG Galaxy to manage anything so I don’t need them to package anything up. Hopefully they’ve improved by the time Asterkarn is released !
It came up at the end of my purchase. It’s probably a random selector than landed on me. I don’t think they do it for every transaction on the platform.
Then you actually do need them to package it up… as an offline installer. These days devs submit the build to the Galaxy pipeline and Offline installers get generated afterwards. This is why offline installers are often several hours (or days) behind Galaxy.
They actually do provide the feedback link after every single order.
accounts are being stolen on steam! Steam won’t even respond when you report the theft… I’ll choose gog.com and for now I’m playing on console, waiting for loyalist item pack 1-3 and FoA DLC at MS store
