The more I play other games… The more I realize that Grim Dawn is just superior and my favorite game.
I go and play any game and I say to myself “Grim Dawn is just so much more fun.”
Grim Dawn makes me happy when just about nothing else does.
Grim Dawn makes me lose track of time with so much enjoyment while playing. Makes the days go by faster.
Grim Dawn makes me have something to look forward to after work. I know as soon as my shifts over I can go and play some GD.
Grim Dawn makes me feel ok for not having friends because it’s designed for sp. Also I have social issues and internet issues. Online games make me rage anyway and online only is terrible. Cough D3 Cough.
Grim Dawn makes me have near infinite things to do. I can play X build the way I want. I can alter X build to do just about anything. And alter X to do X while doing X X X X.
Grim Dawn makes me feel rewarded for putting in the hours of grinding. Whether it’s finding the item or getting a new devotion because that one item or devotion can change your whole build and play style completely.
Grim Dawn makes me feel better about life difficulties because you can relate to the npcs who are all struggling just to live themselves.

if something is enjoyable in a single player game, mission accomplished. Comments about poor taste should be reserved for diefarms (which people are still deluded enough to do) and “I won’t use this skill because it’s X color”
You know, I sometimes wonder what Crate might have achieved if they had say, Blizzard like resources. They did a truly wonderful job with GD, especially when you consider their indie status.
I know GrimDawn 2 is out there in the far future, but I am kind of already hyped for it

You can’t make wild assumptions like that about people. I mean, I am pretty sure he hates pet builds for example.

Spending the same kind of resources means they need to make back more to maintain the same leeway as Crate has with it’s current success. The resulting need for a bigger market share or revenue/content then brings with it all the associated risk-aversion, “cookie-cutterisms”, and monetization hell that plagues “modern” “gaming”.
I currently have 1400 hours spent in the game. I played this game for 1 year, and this number will still be growing as we will have forgotten gods expansion.
Grim dawn is really a beautiful game. The last time I get so hooked up in a game is Yu-Gi-Oh TCG. Like TCG, It’s just give me a sense of freedom in exploring so many options we have in the game.
Yeah. I love grim dawn too. Although it makes my other games in steam library collecting dust. Damn, I really need to stop and finish dragon quest xi, monster Hunter, and .hack GU vol4…
As much as I am a GD vidiot like most folks here… dontcha think Crate folks should get a break from arpgs and try their hands at some other genre? They can always come back later and do GD2.
Look at the Sims. Great game and franchise but after Sims2 it became a chore. If EA wanted to really make $$$ they would have quit the Sims franchise after Sims2 and waited at least a decade to release Sim3 in 3-d. The hype and longing would be an event upon release.
They are going to work on a City Builder after Grim Dawn. So GD 2, if it happens, won’t be happening anytime soon. But yeah, there is no hurry though I rather not wait a decade
And then each time, they nerf the gear in question the following patch, meaning you have to go and buy another $6.5 Crucible Meta Pack to keep up to date. Genius.
I feel like being massively into MTG when I was younger also “prepared” me for the build-tinkering side of GD. I definitely get a similar feeling from sifting through items and designing my own build that I did from making my decks.
I also used to be massively into Dynasty Warriors, which sadly seems to be a gigantic cash cow right now. At least GD scratches that same mass-slaughter-firework-show itch, but without the multiple season passes bullshit DW seems to be offering these days. Season passes which, from what I’ve heard, don’t even contain all the DLC. Gah.
Yeah, I used to be into some of the Dynasty Warriors games a bit. Good mindless beat 'em up. It helped that I was really into the Romance of the 3 Kingdoms games/lore tho. But season passes sound lame.
