Is it normal for the game to drop blue items with level requirements 7-8 levels ahead of where you are? Or am I just underleveled at the moment?
I’ve done a bunch of stuff in Act 2 and killed Darius at level 26, yet he dropped a ring that requires level 33. Usually it seems to be items just 1 or 2 levels above your current level.

What level was he though? Monsters are generally a higher level than you.
Drop depends on enemy level, not your.
Do you play on Vetegan? Enemies outlevel you a bit there, you know.
And it makes more sense, that you items of higher level than you (rather than lower level) - so you can put them to good use a bit later.
And in GD, rare MI items have a new version each 10 levels, not each level. That’s why it’s completely normal, if you get a item, that differs 5 levels from you.
