Hello,
Just out of curiosity, do we know how much the game has sold in different countries? Is it even possible to know? I guess Steam would have this information.

see geography(requires acc): http://steamspy.com/app/219990

not totally accurate, but should give an idea. I have heard that the ownership information is near-correct. no idea about the geography.
There are many Germans unexpectedly. Do Germans so like PC game?
Since mostly Japanese people like the home video games, this is a proper numerical value.
But Japan has more players than owners. Wtf?
I also doubted of it. There are fewer owners in many countries than players.
Is it the result of family sharing?
I think these are percentages and this just means, that in Japan and also in Germany a higher rate of owners actually play the game.
Video games are certainly popular in Germany.
Oh, I see. I missed the percent display.
The owners and the players are the independent rate statistics.
nothing unexpected about it. Many germans play pc games over consoles. For some reason RPG’s in general have a high play rate in germany for the past two decades as far as i’m aware.
There is a text in the steamspy that is not included in the screenshot,
“Both numbers are share in percents of total owners or total players in the last two weeks.”
so grim dawn sold to 100 people in the last 2 weeks, and out of its 2000 owners, 200 people played it in the last 2 weeks.
thats how you can have more players(in the last 2 weeks) than owners(that bought the game in the last 2 weeks)
also, comparing the stats of steamspy to stats of grimcalc, I can say its basically true as far as popularity metrics goes.
Would it count gifted versions of the game? or just the different accounts purchasing it
It includes every owner.
Gifts, people that added the game via humble bundle/gog etc.
