Grim Dawn Version 1.0.0.2

This is the same thing I see for most melee builds.

“Mark of the Wendigo: increased activation chance to 25%, added a 2s cooldown

After the Tome of Names proc, another skill got killed. sad

Attack damage to health is just a form of pseudo-tankiness. By adding CD to Mark of the Wendigo you are only largely reduce the clear speed, while hardly reduce the survivability of vitality builds. If your toon has poor hp pool or resists, you can still be crit/swarmed to death even you can gain 1000000 attack damage to health in one second.

Look at Tome of Names proc, the main purpose is to apply the reduce resist debuff. Adding a CD is wut? Debuff a single enemy every 3 seconds? Wut is dis crap??

Think carefully on the implications of the changes please!
If you must add a CD on Mark of the Wendigo and Tome of Names proc, change the proc to an area effect please! Like 5-8m radius so it can affect/damage a group of enemies.

Hence my first comment here.

Exactly the thing that stood out to me. I’ve been asking for Wendigo and Assassin’s Marks to have a cooldown AND an attached Radius. Would be a lot better to balance without making it unusable.

Dunno what you consider to be “considerable” then or what you were testing it on. I’ve noticed a significant difference going from 800 to 1000 armor. Both in ambient damage and on high physical hits. I notice it the most with big hits, which tended to stand out a lot more.

Tome of Names has had a 3 second cooldown for a few patches now. Not sure why you are only noticing that now.

I tested higher my armor before and armor after on Hero monsters, Bosses and Nemesis spawns. I did not notice much of anything for reduction in incoming damage with higher armor.

With the exception of the “I’m gonna quit” stuff, unkind is pretty accurate. This patch hurt my saboteur pretty badly. I lost a ton of health, some resist and saw no change in armor.

I was originally concerned that I had dropped all of my ability points in physique and may not need them with the armor change but with the health nerfs you’re still going to want a lot of physique to shore up your health.

All in all this made my fun & challenging run through ultimate into a much less fun exercise in splitting groups.

Wow. That is amazing. Good work everyone at Crate!

I don’t see how these procs will be OP w/o CD either. But I am totally with you. Adding CD while only affect a single target just make them garbage.

Similar to Tome of Names, from a pretty decent legendary to a garbage just because of a “small” change.

Nice shot, thx guys

Is it just me, or is the sound messed up? Or did you update it in a way that it sounds like the sound effects looks like as if they’re getting partially muted? Also, I’m not hearing the sound when I drink a potion too…

The sound was lower to me in general. I did not hear the potion sound either.

The sound fx are currently bugged and come out of the opposite speaker.

I notice that in b30 or 31. I am just stating it as comparison.

Ah, that makes sense…

Also…

Crate, are you planning to do what I think you’re gonna do?

Can’t wait to use a ranged bladearc on a ranged blademaster. KAPPAFACE.PNG

Possible typo? Lost in Translation with another skill ?

Nothing like swinging your rifle sideways on 180 arc while pulling the trigger to shot everything around you.

It makes quite a big difference, can drop crimson spike if you have enough armor.

Why even more defensive nerfs? It’s already beyond frustrating and not even the slightest bit fun trying to play a melee character self found in Grim Dawn… Seems like you’re only trying to balance it to make it super hard for fully BiS gear’d characters. That’s pretty effed up IMO.
