Grim Dawn Version 1.0.1.0

Relic - Scourge: replaced chance of Retaliation with flat Cold and Vitality damage. Increased damage, increased chance to Freeze to 100% and reduced cooldown to 2.4s on granted skill.

Nice.

Leviathan: reduced Frostburn damage to 15 / 3s

Ouch.

Shadow Strike: reduced % Weapon damage scaling at ultimate ranks to 360% by max ultimate rank. Reduced Cold and Pierce damage scaling with rank, primarily at ultimate ranks.

OUCH!

sweats internally while thinking of how much dps I must lose

Well, still not that big of a deal given that I stack Frostburn from Celestial Skills with my build.

Hoping that the DoT damage will mitigate dps loss somewhat.

It means you cannot load a v1.0.1.0 savegame in earlier versions of the game. Who could wanted to do that though?

GoG has a roll back feature so you can go back to a previous build if you so wish… Maybe your favourite Mod isn’t working in the latest version yet and you want to continue playing with the Mod while the mod creator updates it to run with the newest version.

There’s usually a valid reason even if you cannot see it, so no need for the rolling eyes just because it didn’t occur to you

Piere BM was already kind of trash without full investment in cunning and super tweaking. My only hope is that the expansion has some new stuff for pierce BM hat will bring them back into the game. As for now they are a glass cannon without a bang, lame pun but true:D

Won’t exactly say it’s trash, but at the same time I’m still somewhat hopeful due to these reasons:

  1. New items and updated Legendaries in the Exp pack to enhance class build diversity.
  2. Higher level cap = more skills (and maybe…more constellation points? But I’m not expecting it though).
  3. My Spellbreaker has quite a big chunk of damage in Frostburn and Nightfall is just as important as SS.
  4. Current Spellbreaker also benefits greatly from elemental boosting skills like Overload and Elemental Balance.
  5. 360% damage scaling hurts no doubt, but kill speed will only decrease slightly since my SB does add-on cold resist reductions to monsters.
  6. I did not choose Blade Barrier + Mirror of Ereoctes for show; I can afford to wait for mooks to freeze themselves out

I kind of feel for the Pierce oriented builds though. Haven’t specced into that myself, but neither have I seen a lot of good opinions about it around here.

  1. Yes that is what i was saying/hoping. That xpac will do stuff for BM to make it better:p It is now worse than after the previous nerf.
  2. Same
  3. I’m reffering to Pierce Bm not SB. Even with these nerfs SB is better than 0.9 BM and much better than 1.0 BM since SS nerf hits both
  4. Same as 3 kinda
  5. It’s not just the %damage that got a MASSIVE hit. But the flat damage was also hit, bot cold and pierce, making BM again inferior to SB
    6.??:stuck_out_tongue:

The slight increase to flat pierce dmage in harpy and Thief don’t make up for SS being hammered down.

The increase in Dual Blades pierce damage is not enough again becuase you can’'t even max overcap it, something that, again, i hope it will change with xpac gear.

What you say is true.

And the logic why I didn’t focus on DB is because 12 points for that much increase isn’t worth it unless Skill points are more plentiful.

I could see that being viable on Veteren or even elite, but when you play on Ultimate, you basically need to sacrifice 50% more damage at one point or another and call it a fair deal.

Hoping that the Pierce specialists will get a boost at some point since well…cold/Pierce is literally the best way to get the most out of SS (Just not in this patch :o). Plus Blademasters go for clean kills in general, so I understand that a BM can’t kite around to ‘wait it out’.

Hail 2-handers!

Same here.

Fair points actually.

The last will of Marthos Everbrook .

A little note would have been nice just to say there are more locations to find the will . On Ultimate atm and the times I have ran to the locations and restarted my game to no avail , then find the will in a different location altogether in a house past the rotting croplands portal .

Bah :stuck_out_tongue:

Just returned from work and checked my cold-Oriented spellbreaker out of curiousity.

Weapon damage go bumped up from 19k to 25k (I use the Scourge relic which was buffed), but Shadow Strike went down from 70-ish K to 69K.

Irony is that my build isn’t even an auto-attacker XD

that has always been the case, this is not a new change…

It only happens to me whenever I enter the rotting croplands, then need to leave halfway before finding the note.

Because each time the note’s location is randomized to appear in 1 of the 3 different houses.

More often than not, it’s mostly the house I passed en route to the waypoint.

Lot’s of nice buffs here and there (+4k DPS on Valdun’s Commando I’m finishing leveling was a nice surprise), also really digging the new Pillager’s Dread Helm, the text from Kory about it is glorious.
And I’m probably the only person tilted by the “replaced +2 to Blade Trap with +2 to Heart Seeker” on Demonslayer’s hat, mostly because I was using the hat on my dual pistol Blademaster that uses Blade Trap for range CC, oh well, will need to flex around with the build to see if I have some good replacement.
Other then this, keep up the great job Crate

When the game goes to dx 11???

The pop up messages font size got way too big with this update. Specially the one from the Too Late to Rescue quest where nearly a third of the message doesn’t appear on the screen.

Mmm… never? I believe so.

Btw is there a typo in the patch?

It says Elemental dealt as Physical in Beronath?
