unless i remember wrong, Naddo’s shotgun is literally telegraph warned with the sunder fx spike flash? ![]()
He can spawn all projectiles on top of you, it seems. I posted a clip on Discord a few days ago.
When I was fighting him from range, same ability is very forgiving, you can see the danger (even if it’s red on red), and projectiles are short-ranged. But in melee it’s death.
i mean, it’s literally pre-warned so you can move? https://imgur.com/a/uIo00gA https://i.imgur.com/Ag4Iwle.mp4

the attack is even long and drawn out giving the pre-warning FX full time to run before it actually shoots
if anything that’s gotta be one of the better announced/sunder warned attacks in the game
- it’s very long/slow windup +full/extended fx display ![]()
It didn’t prove that it can actually damage me, with its previous attacks. And yeah there’s no sunder flash in my clip. Maybe they hotfixed it or something.
Like overall there are much better ways to telegraph that something dangerous is happening, a random vertical stab is not it.
sry couldn’t see your clip i just get a blank page
now i’m not even sure if we’re talking about the same either
that’s not how that attack/shotgun or animation plays out atleast as you can see in my clip
edit. wait, you’re referring to his wave attack, with the ground dmg?
Imgur link for GoldShark’s clip.
Doesn’t matter, ultimately. It’s just an example. If you think that it’s a bad example, well that means that I’m even more “pro-facetanking”, in your worldview. ![]()
For me there’s a feeling disconnect in the game, where I can be “sufficiently tanky” in some spots and “super weak” in other spots, and there’s not enough progression between them. Maybe I could have looked at the earlier fight with Gruldir, who was kinda doing damage, and extrapolated that the next boss would be even more dangerous. But I didn’t, so that’s the feedback. ![]()
Oh yeah I guess that’s what it is. So it’s a damage spike because of resistance shred rather than shotgunning? Unless ground can shotgun too?
i don’t see any of his attacks doing RR in GT atleast,
and yes ground stuff can shotgun too, it’s the same issue with Calla sands attack, which i’m guessing is the same/similar template Naddo might be using just chaos dmg.
Basically it becomes random what way they travel, or if you take them all in like hitbox impact (kinda looks like that’s what it was in your clip)
Whether that attack should be better animated/telegraphed isn’t for me to say, but it can def have nasty dmg potential if not moving then. (whether dmg spike potential is intended equally can’t say - usually they have reduced dmg at pointblank range)
appreciate it ![]()
Yeah, I see. Thank you, it’s good to know.
I meant, ground stuff ignores resistances, or so I read on the internet. And that’s part of the kill, I guess.
no that’s static trap stuff/fixed floor dmg like immolation and hargate etc “aether ground”/FG lava floors/“map tiles”. - they deal fixed %hp dmg only mitigated by absorb
Enemy attacks are normal, so your res still matters. Might be Naddo don’t have the distance penalty on his wave like other similar skills do, or it just has crazy phys dmg relative to amount of forks (or in general) *edit. looked at the wrong projectile, the stab wave has more chaos dmg, but less phys dmg than the sunder shotgun
By comparison it has way more dmg than the sunder shotgun which is pre-fx warned ![]()
Yes that’s my point, there is no difficulty “smoothness” between bosses. Some absolutely do nothing and others are just mind boggling in terms of threat.
The head scratching on my part was “how did they arrive at this?” How can the underking be like that when Zar is exploding people and shriek exist?
Now you could say that they shouldn’t all be one way or another. Sure I get that but shouldn’t the underking, inherently be more dangerous then Zar?
I arrived at the following. Gnom is right about what needed to happen. The difficulty needed to happen. What didn’t come with it was the fair consistency across all arenas for new/returning players.
Yes, I want GD to be difficult. More then it was. But also consistent. And balance is out of the window now. I am sure it will change but it will take some time. 1.2.1.6 was extremely well balanced after all those years. Even at SR40+ the game was really balanced.
agree
likewise with some telegraphs/“warning” differences like GoldShark brought up
I’m still not entirely sure what attack killed me on Beronath, just that it made me run from everything the puppy did on retry ![]()
I got killed only two times on my SSF Vet playthrough.
Once was with that Solael creature in Broken Hills when I went for him with 20 % chaos res and almost killed him on the first attempt.
And second was Anasteria when I was was lulled by a long time of nothing happening… And she actually deals some serious damage.
Both easily avoidable.
That was after many years of playing only high SR and no MC.
Nemeses spawned more often in ascendant in 1.3.0.0 and they spawn too little.
So I have Fangs in GOG and I just bought GD and all the Expansions (including Crucible just to 100% sure) on Steam for my son so we can play together and his version is Steam 1.3.0.3 and mine is GOG 1.3. and we can see our games but, cant join because versions do not match and I can only find 1.3.0.2 on here and 1.3.0.1 on steam according to patch notes so anyone got some tips or advise to solve the issue? Thanks.
Edit: Sorry if this was the wrong place to ask, Its patch note related to be fair.
For GoG Users: I’ve written to [email protected] about the release date for the hotfix on GoG, and received an answer from Kamil:

Hello,
Applying hotfixes on GOG is a hot mess and their patcher tool often breaks Grim Dawn installations.
We will be pushing a compilation of fixes with v1.3.0.4 on GOG very soon.
Kind regards,
-Kamil
Furthermore, if you also have the issue of FoA achievements in GoG Galaxy being awarded anew each time you start the game, there is a thread about this on the GoG forum:
Do we really have to write to support to finally receive some info regarding this? ![]()
Kamil is Zantai and he already responded about the GOG issues in another thread a few days ago:
GOG is notorious for issues with updating games. It takes extra time for them to test it and release it compared to Steam that just works and the developer can update themselves at any time.
is there any way to take back latest update from xbox? seems they wont relase any updates soon, its been a week I still awaiting. I want to delete a char to create another but there is no option.
