Stop teasing. Mean, mean Santa(i).
Nah, the true final boss is Harvey the Drifter. He’s just sitting in his place, plotting all the machinations by the Aetherials, waiting for the moment to conquer all.
Why do you think the Aetherials don’t go to his room and kill him even though they can easily break the door? They know he’s the true mastermind, so they stay back out of fear. Even if you kill him, he just comes back from the veil between worlds to continue his plans for world domination.
What about that wounded guy in old arkovia? He is been wounded by a giant troll and just doesn’t die. Day after day, month after month.
No.
It’s the dude who ‘lost’ his sister in the caves. ‘Lost?’ More like sacrificed to eldritch powers in his ongoing quest for immortality.
You can’t fool me.
Final boss is inquisitor creed.
You can see it in the background of the latest dev’s stream when Zantai is running through his “magical room”, at one part there are faction items with Coven, Malmouth and Wendigo names, both normal and elite versions. Also during the near to end of the stream there are faction vendors, one is suited up in Malmouth items, like the ones seen in this misadventure’s and another one with horns coming out of his hood, probably the Wendigo faction vendor
Nice! Will check it out tonight.
Wendigo Deathspeaker Shaman confirmed ^^
I’m betting on the end boss boiling down to Barnabas being possessed by the disgruntled spirit of Harvey the drifter (his spirit probably hasn’t forgotten about you breaking his favorite door and calling his only son a fake) and mutating into the third coming of the log, only twice as big and taking up almost the entire instance.
Clearly it’s the Trip Down South girl…I mean, that chick is a SURVIVOR!
Probably the faction where we get the choice to be either hostile/friendly to
Will that be like a Order/Kymon dichotomy or like the exile? (I felt the exile never really was a choice; you side with her. I hope Wendigo is not the same).
While I personaly wouldn’t mind to have another choice which faction to ally myself with and which one to be hostile with (more MI’s and more Nemesis to grind, yay!), during one of streams Zantai mentioned to a player which was not liking the Order/Chosen choice (due to the fact that a friend for a MP party picked the wrong faction… honestly people, basic communication skills please) that there won’t be another faction choice like that in the expansion.
Allthough that has been a few weeks ago, stuff might have changed during the development.
OK two out there thoughts.
1 - Barnabas was always possessed by an atherial. He cooked up a cunning infiltration plan with another atherial (the one possessing you) to infiltrate humanity, in particular Homestead and The Black Legion (sort of like Total recall). Of course his plan backfires as the atherial can’t regain control of you and you end up fighting him.
2 - The Aetherial that possessed you has or is trying to regain control of you. You fight a trippy psychic battle in you mind or in the Aetherial realm or something, against an imaginary Barnabas who is symbolic as having rescued you in the first place.
Edit - just realised I was thinking of Bourbon. Never mind.
Does my faction get to do anything this expansion?
They have a picnic with the Aetherials. Even Valdaran and Benn’Jhar share a hug.
“Roadside Picnic” and leaving us with the trash.
Barnabas? I doubt it. Who else could indicate the end of the content than… the dreaded Clone of John Bourbon? I just know he’ll be the final boss :).
Well to be fair, he did try to send us in death traps at least three times.
Say why don’t you go into this Slith infested cavern for us aye? It would be a real shame if you were to die of poison…
Oh, it would be really neat if you could walk through an aetherial corrupted valley. Not at all with the intent to have you die there at all.
There is this farm village up north, and I need you to get on their good side. In order to do so, please go on and don’t mind that amalgamation that is there.
Don’t know about you guys, but I see a connection here…
Barnabas was a really weak attempt. Had higher expectations of the Mastertroll.
Can’t be so easily tricked, we all know that we are going to fight Ulgrim at some point. The sneaky bastrad has “traitor” written on his forehead.
Nice faction. It’s great to see some colors instead of the standard our clothes are old, dark or on fire.
By the way, I could never kill Barnabas. He is too friendly and he gives us an inventory bag, which is one of the best gifts possible.
