He won’t be added to the crucible
To me it sounds like they’re just trying to make the gameplay more fluid and less clunky. Don’t know what bad people see at that.
Thank you for pushing the controller scheme to PC before the xbox release. I know that means we are kind of testers but really enjoy playing on my TV and can’t wait to use the new scheme!
With the new UI do we have to use the mouse with the controller still? Like for inventory management and such?
Would love to see a few more screens of the inv, map, quest log ,etc.
yeah that is exaclty what i thought.
It could be bad for some (not to me) and people can complain after they’ve tested it out, the problem is they’re complaining before they’ve tested it out
Really wanna try out my Tactician with 7 skills to rotate in hard encounters while using controller.
So… how about fixing optimization? With new add-on it became even worse
Don’t know if Zantai will like this (some people already noticed that Dikkie got some achievements that were broken before) but the patch is in testing and yes, it works exactly like i’m saying it does. Casting without shift still works exactly the same way as before (your character will still run up to the enemy and cast the skill at the minimal possible range) but now with shift casting, some skills are much easier to cast.
This includes skills like Callidor Tempest and Bone Harvest that wouldn’t cast if your cursor was just slightly out of the area effect or in the case of Bone Harvest, just slightly out of the maximum range. Now these skills can be cast with the cursor anywhere on the screen and you aim with the cursor where you want the skill to go with shift casting. You can also still use the cursor to put the skill where you want if you are in the area, like before.
It’s towards where your cursor is the same as at the moment, and I haven’t specifically tried the range as mainly summoning pets with my current char, but Reap Spirit (which think had a cast range) now seems to happily cast on whatever mob I select on the screen (within a range, outside of that the cast fails…just checked), no running forward, just cast and done.
Can you double check this as I’ve just double checked and my char doesn’t run forwards if out of range with Reap Spirit, the cast just fails, so either one of us has a bug or something but the conflicting info isn’t going to help anyone, let alone Crate :undecided:
Edit…this was using kb and mouse not the controller
Awesomeee!!
I never used Reap Spirit, but maybe it always worked like that?
I’m semi sure it used to run up and cast previously.
I hope the patch includes a fix for the random crashes some people suffer from. I had the same crashes in several other games, like Guild Wars 2 and Warframe and now i am kinda freaked out about the thought that my GPU is defect.
I really hope this issue is intrinsic to Grim Dawn, Directx or Nvidia Drivers and not my precious hardware
As I said earlier this conflicting info isn’t helping anyone and one of us must have a bug as we are having different experiences. Can you please read CAREFULLY the info we are given and not keep stating the complete opposite to what’s posted by Zantai in the first post of this thread. I’d say you have a bug as you are still moving and need to report it… and this hasn’t got anything to do with shift cast…as your char wouldn’t move anyway while holding shift.
Bolded by me
There’s definitely some bugs with the new casting, hence why we are having different experiences.
Disregard all my posts about the new casting in this thread.
If your machine is being noisy, it may be a fan problem. I had this for a long time, but fixing a new fan to the GPU solved the problem. No crashes for me anymore.
I would also like for someone from the dev team to clarify the casting changes. The way it’s described here, it makes plenty sense for some spells, namely those that are not essentially targeted on a location - Shaman’s totems, e.g.
But, they could be catastrophic for other spells, that target a location to be damaged. If, for example, I cast a Devastation out of its range now, the character will walk until he gets in range of the target location. That is very much desired in this scenario. If he casts it from his current location, and misses the targeted location, that means I have to wait until the cooldown time passes. In case of Devastation, that is quite long, and can get the character killed.
Can anyone from Crate please clarify what will this look like? Will it be applied to all spells indiscriminately?

I hope someday bounty table will have auto move function when clicked on it (Malmouth Resistance’s table has this miracle!)
I know he won’t, what I said referred to Lokarr from the crucible dlc not the one from Mr.blue rift gate.
And what I’m trying to say is he will jump into the party after standing there, enjoyed watching Kuba murdered us
