Grim Misadventure #160: All Set Here

“mortar trap
plus devastation”

oh lord almighty forgive me for the things I am about to do to this poor graphics card

Love the look of the Targo’s set!! Judgement into Blade Arc sounds like my kinda build!! Also anything that involves Shields gets my vote  I hope it will have decent synergy with Targo the Builder’s ability Shield Wall and the Anvil’s ability Targo’s Hammer! So hyped for it

I have a thing that I would like to see tended to in this next patch, but I will put that in the feedback forum lol.

Artwork is wonderful. Aether Mortar Trap incoming! Some Vitality love. I’m reeeeally hyped.

The Pyran’s Set is very promising, Mortar Trap + Guardians is what I’m running right now, and I’d love a proper set to support that build.

I’d love an item that makes Guardians Aether/Lightning to use in a Templar build.

Can Mortar traps be made to look a little cooler, maybe get a more throaty thump when they fire?

How am I supposed to make new builds for these sets when I already reached my 50 character limit?

Any possibility of increasing the limit? Please?

That’s a Steam cloud saving limitation iirc. If you want more then switch to local saves. Or move some of your characters on to a external drive/key/usb to make room for new ones.

If you are using Cloud Saves, then no, because that limit is set by Valve, not us.

You can have as many characters as you want with local saves.

I agree that a RORG component is a terrible idea, but please elaborate on why you think having one more set piece than the maximum set bonus is awful? I might give you shit but I’m legit interested in your reasoning as I’ve always liked the idea.

Well, for starters, we’d be making extra items, which takes time/resources.

Seems like a poor use of new items to just make redundant options for sets. Not to mention I feel that it waters down the decision of equipping sets vs using non-set gear.

I’m trying to run vitality totems/guardians with EoR, and while it looks cool thematically I doubt there is enough support for it. Al least I can make vitality EoR with some side damage options.

Though my posion EoR dervish might be delighted.

Obviously, but that has nothing to do with mechanics.

With the current gear available I can see that. Opening up the option of using more MIs would be a boon though. I also think if it allowed for the use of other partial sets with your main set that would be more interesting as well.

I guess what I was hoping for was your point of view on the concept and not as it pertains to Grim Dawn in it’s current state.

What about the Roguelike dungeon, guys?

Mortar trap <3 I love it. Nice to have a new set for it. Shame it involves a helm, Cyclone’s is too fun to lose.

What about the rogue-like? It’s coming some time later this year.

I thought I gave my point of view.

I feel that it dilutes sets and the choice in wearing a set vs. other gear.

Well I was under the impression that it will happen next patch after 1.1.2  obviously I’ve been wrong on that.

Came under the heading 1.1.3.0 and beyond.

It surely would. Set Amulets come to mind. Or Sets that have weapons, like the Venomblade Set. I’d imagine the ripple effect on balancing would be insane.

Welcome to the forums

Also +1 for me, I love GD’s cool axe and sword designs. But rifles and guns is where it’s really at in Grim Dawn.

Vitality Primal Strike sounds like a whole lot of fun - time to start farming for an Eldritch Korvan Storm Halberd then!

Thanks for the dedication to continue bringing interesting sets for greater build diversity, always fun to see how the brilliant minds on these forums put them to work!
