Grim RIFTs/MAPs System

OK !
I think everyone playing this game knows and agrees that there is one essential thing missing from it, and that is a Rift/Map System similar to D3 or PoE, both smart phone apps - not actual games, but that ideea alone is probably the only thing keeping them playable.
Other than that, lets be honest, they are horrible, very few items, very few end game if not just 1 build per end game char, ugly graphics, no zoom, etc.

Grim Dawn on the other hand, except a rift/map system, has it all, graphics, a good ZOOM level, immersion (would be better if player’s light radius wouldn’t create new shadows around him), decisions, consequences, the best crafting system ever, STORY LINE is one of the best and it’s comparison the real world, secret quests, and a lot more, and overall, in my opinion, is the best game in it’s kind.
So why should it…kinda…end ?

Well it doesn’t actually end, but u keep farming the same places on and on, SoT, BoC, Port and Lokkar. Gets very boring after some time.
Crucible is nice now, but still, 2 new rounds end very fast. So does entire Crucible.

My ideea of this kind of endless farming, uber build testing and competitive rift/map system is the following:

[ul]
[li]1. You should only be allowed to enter rifts after reaching lvl 75. Period ! Otherwise there would be another, infinite, source of experience, that would make new chars get to lvl 75-100 in 1 day…not fun.[/li]

[li]2. It should be infinite - levels should go on forever, they should not have a gap, otherwise it would just be another crucible. Levels could even repeat at some point, but enemies inside would just have double the health.[/li]

[li]3. There should be a leaderboard for all players who finish in single and multiplayer, separate or combined, doesn’t matter really.[/li]

[li]4. At the end of each level, the game makes a Print Char (similar to print screen) that makes it free for all other players that are viewing the leaderboard, to see what items the player had when STARTING and FINISHING the rift, what skills, stats and devotions, and what he had in inventory. This way people can be sure that they dont compete with hackers.[/li]

[li]5. You should not be able to change items on you while u are inside the rift. After finishing 1 level, u enter the next one, without being able to go to town, or change items. The rift ends when you die (or all die, in multi) or when you choose to stop (u might want to end gameplay without dying)[/li]

[li]6. Each level should have a timer - the faster u finish the more points u earn, the more points u earn in total when u finish, the more items and higher chance for better items u have. There should not be a time limit to finish each level, only a timer that counts how fast u finish it. How fast u finish one level determines what level comes next, so for a lvl 100 end game char that starts lvl 1 rifts, finishing it in 1min would get him maybe to lvl 25/30 ? [/li]

[li]7. Monsters in rifts should not drop items, only potions of health and spirit, the loot u get will be in a chest, after u finish ur last level, meaning when u die, or choose to end the rift.[/li]

[li]8. If you die in party, u just respawn after 3-5 sec at that entrance start of the level where u died in. Dying would add 1min to ur level completion time. You can choose to respawn where u are for 1min added to the completion time.[/li]

[li]9. You should be able to open rifts in single player and multiplayer after starting a game, and should not be something separate like crucible. Maybe a new npc would be placed somewhere who would teleport you to a sanctum of the immortal similar room, where u can open rifts, or he simply spawns a rift portal next to him.[/li]

[li]10. You should not be able to have buffs similar to crucible, that u can use before entering the rift, but rifts may have diff curses, except lower mov speed. You should be able to use elixirs.[/li]

[li]11. You should not be able to stand still in rifts, after just 3 seconds of standing in the same spot, those unkillable traps/rocks appear and start damaging u. So no AFK u lasy donkeys. PLAY ![/li]

[li]12. Maps of rifts could be random areas from main campain like dungeons, rifts like cinder wastes, even normal maps like mourandale and just cut out the entrance and exit to it and put a rift to the next level.[/li]

[li]13. Maybe at each another 10th level (10,20,30…etc) there would be a boss fight just as in crucible and maybe even crucible maps would be picked for boss fights.[/li]

[li]14. More ideeas will be added here…please share yours.[/ul][/li]

It doesn’t matter if it would be something that costs materials/compos/iron/item in game to do it, or if it’s free in game, it doesn’t even matter if it comes as a DLC with a $price on it or for free, but it should be something that the game should have. It needs it.

I think the game needs some sort of semi-randomized endgame just to keep farming fresh but I am not sure rifts with leaderboards and such is the right way to go about it. I do like some of the ideas and incorporating them into roguelikes though.

Looks like somebody has been doing too many Greater Rifts in d3…

Isn’t OP the one who kept telling people to go play Diablo when they didn’t like his ideas

No, everyone playing the game doesn’t agree (horrible idea) and no, the game doesn’t need this crap. If you want them go and play the games that have them, GD is great as it is.

Auction House closed - Quit Game ! Permanently !

But yes some of the ideeas they had there I like and are good.

GD is lacking endless farm without restart game and ofc a way to actually compete to other players, other classes and now exactly how good/better/worse u are in comparison to others.
You can actually see which classes are better ( i presume pet builds would be on top always by the game’s present standards ).

Your dog sheeted on the carpet ? Or why are u crying ? Cause i said “i think” something about the game ?

When you dont like someone else’s ideea it’s usually best not to say it’s crap…just cause u believe so…lol…some might like it some might not…but from what u say is like it’s 100% general truth.

Those memes are right…don’t fight the internet…its useless…

hello I am Grum

Not crying, simply giving my opinion to your suggestions. As you included a poll (yes or no) I presume you want to hear what other people think of your suggestions. Now you know.

“Stop giving me negative feedback!”

Fuck you.

Not everyone wants that … I really don’t care if people do Boc/Sot/PoV or Crucible runs quicker/better than me  as long as I enjoy my build/my time spend in the game

Rifting contributes to fun and map diversity in the same way changing the arrangement of the leaves and veggies in my salad changes its flavor.

That is the ideea yes ofc ! But u said it as a general truth or something similar.

No. Just no. Not to stupid, endless farming that gives the illusion of content. No.

Thankfully Crate wants character progression to have an actual end. So this will never happen.

And there’s no competing with other players because the game is single player focused.

I also enjoy the game, it’s the only game i still play. But after u get to a lvl where there is nothing to to with a char, and u have 4 other chars the same, creating a new char, also has a limit :), i dont intend to reach it very soon, but, in my opinion (so no one sends a sniper after me), this ideea of rifting or anything similar to it, in any game or type of game, is what keeps them MORE alive and MORE playable.
And competition is always nice in gaming. You always strive to do better. Me with my bm i cant do anything about him to make him better, i finished game, all quests, all diff levels, crucible all rounds/waves on all diff levels, i got the best items that i could find for him imo, and now i want to test him right ? I want to grind and shadow strike intro dozens of monsters and hack and slash etc, and see how far i can go with what i have achieved with my char after finishing all the game has offered.

Not everyone’s interested in competition. I’m certainly not interested in dickmeasuring without a “closed B.Net” type situation where cheaters can be forced to go legit.

A built-in in-game system that would show in red color stats that shouldn’t be on items would be the best thing for anti-cheaters.
And for deeckmeasure the “Print Char” I think is decent ideea to be able to see everything about the char when u view leaderboards.

Not saying that a full online needed to play even single player wouldn’t be good.

You are sad about something. Tell me about it. Every game has an actual end to it. But todays games dont end when they end…they keep on going. GD is still one of them…but still a lil far from that unending gameplay style…u always have to restart to have more monsters.

I really do not care for this, I much rather have a second expansion with more static content than random dungeons

I know it also sounds like a general truth…but that “I think” saves me

Not sad at all, just glad this will never happen. Crate doesn’t want endless progression, the end. Asking for stuff that does exactly that is pointless.
