OK !
I think everyone playing this game knows and agrees that there is one essential thing missing from it, and that is a Rift/Map System similar to D3 or PoE, both smart phone apps - not actual games, but that ideea alone is probably the only thing keeping them playable.
Other than that, lets be honest, they are horrible, very few items, very few end game if not just 1 build per end game char, ugly graphics, no zoom, etc.
Grim Dawn on the other hand, except a rift/map system, has it all, graphics, a good ZOOM level, immersion (would be better if player’s light radius wouldn’t create new shadows around him), decisions, consequences, the best crafting system ever, STORY LINE is one of the best and it’s comparison the real world, secret quests, and a lot more, and overall, in my opinion, is the best game in it’s kind.
So why should it…kinda…end ?
Well it doesn’t actually end, but u keep farming the same places on and on, SoT, BoC, Port and Lokkar. Gets very boring after some time.
Crucible is nice now, but still, 2 new rounds end very fast. So does entire Crucible.
My ideea of this kind of endless farming, uber build testing and competitive rift/map system is the following:
[ul]
[li]1. You should only be allowed to enter rifts after reaching lvl 75. Period ! Otherwise there would be another, infinite, source of experience, that would make new chars get to lvl 75-100 in 1 day…not fun.[/li]
[li]2. It should be infinite - levels should go on forever, they should not have a gap, otherwise it would just be another crucible. Levels could even repeat at some point, but enemies inside would just have double the health.[/li]
[li]3. There should be a leaderboard for all players who finish in single and multiplayer, separate or combined, doesn’t matter really.[/li]
[li]4. At the end of each level, the game makes a Print Char (similar to print screen) that makes it free for all other players that are viewing the leaderboard, to see what items the player had when STARTING and FINISHING the rift, what skills, stats and devotions, and what he had in inventory. This way people can be sure that they dont compete with hackers.[/li]
[li]5. You should not be able to change items on you while u are inside the rift. After finishing 1 level, u enter the next one, without being able to go to town, or change items. The rift ends when you die (or all die, in multi) or when you choose to stop (u might want to end gameplay without dying)[/li]
[li]6. Each level should have a timer - the faster u finish the more points u earn, the more points u earn in total when u finish, the more items and higher chance for better items u have. There should not be a time limit to finish each level, only a timer that counts how fast u finish it. How fast u finish one level determines what level comes next, so for a lvl 100 end game char that starts lvl 1 rifts, finishing it in 1min would get him maybe to lvl 25/30 ? [/li]
[li]7. Monsters in rifts should not drop items, only potions of health and spirit, the loot u get will be in a chest, after u finish ur last level, meaning when u die, or choose to end the rift.[/li]
[li]8. If you die in party, u just respawn after 3-5 sec at that entrance start of the level where u died in. Dying would add 1min to ur level completion time. You can choose to respawn where u are for 1min added to the completion time.[/li]
[li]9. You should be able to open rifts in single player and multiplayer after starting a game, and should not be something separate like crucible. Maybe a new npc would be placed somewhere who would teleport you to a sanctum of the immortal similar room, where u can open rifts, or he simply spawns a rift portal next to him.[/li]
[li]10. You should not be able to have buffs similar to crucible, that u can use before entering the rift, but rifts may have diff curses, except lower mov speed. You should be able to use elixirs.[/li]
[li]11. You should not be able to stand still in rifts, after just 3 seconds of standing in the same spot, those unkillable traps/rocks appear and start damaging u. So no AFK u lasy donkeys. PLAY ![/li]
[li]12. Maps of rifts could be random areas from main campain like dungeons, rifts like cinder wastes, even normal maps like mourandale and just cut out the entrance and exit to it and put a rift to the next level.[/li]
[li]13. Maybe at each another 10th level (10,20,30…etc) there would be a boss fight just as in crucible and maybe even crucible maps would be picked for boss fights.[/li]
[li]14. More ideeas will be added here…please share yours.[/ul][/li]
It doesn’t matter if it would be something that costs materials/compos/iron/item in game to do it, or if it’s free in game, it doesn’t even matter if it comes as a DLC with a $price on it or for free, but it should be something that the game should have. It needs it.
