Grinding and Convenience

So grinding is one of the core mechanics of this game. Why? Well because it’s very unlikely to get the exact loot piece you want on the first drop, so one has to grind if one wants to obtain specific item.

Then I have a following question: Why grinding is so “inconvenient” in this game as you need to constantly exit to main menu, load back in, and search for bosses or other mobs (nemesis in particular) for good 10 to 15 minutes, then kill them and only then, maybe, get an epic or legendary drop.

Why we don’t get places that are guaranteed to have some very hard boss that will always drop epic or legendary loot.
Or even better, extremely hard locations where drop-rates are significantly higher. (“Roguelike” dungeons don’t have higher drop rates from m experience).

PS: I am in no way saying this game is bad. In fact, it’s the best aRPG I ever played. I just don’t like some ideas behind it.

So maybe you need to do Crucible. That’s exactly what Crucible offers. Legendary loot guaranteed after completing certain waves.

And Roguelike dungeons do have higher drop rates. That big chest almost always drop legendary or blueprints, unless of course when it’s trying to drop blueprints you already own, then it will not show up in the game.

And if you implant an area where the drops rates are higher for all mobs, no one is going to play other parts of the campaign. And what about the MI? Are we also including all the monsters in that area? And after it’s implanted, it would be awfully like the Crucible, but just the loot will be dropping while you fight monsters, instead of after all the monsters are killed.

Thank you for your answer. Unfortunately, I heard that grinding on Crucible is slower than grinding nemesis. I think that beats it’s purpose. But I will definitely try it out. Thanks again.

Grinding in crucible is the fastest way to aquire loot in GD. But you need stronk build to do so SSF.

There is no way.

You can get 90% of legendaries in the game with a fast farmer in crucible after 3-5 full days of grind, just an example, not that it’s normal.

But it’s really worth it

Aside from what the others said, Nemeses aren’t even the best way to farm on campaign. It’s roguelikes. Farm there till you have the gear to farm crucible.

3-5 days playing, NAY GRINDING crucible?! Shoot me now!

roguelike dungeons guarantee a unique drop in their ‘combat rooms’ (where barriers close the area off), each roguelike has one of them, drops from mobs are not higher, but the density of heroes / bosses is, so they still are a good place to farm

when JoV returned he farmed lvl 94 anasteria helm for his sorc, went to cruci and got almost all new items in 3 days or so:)

Then moved on to MIs

@OP yes in campaign BoC runs are king. 2 legendary per run at least. Gotten 5 on lucky runs

If anything, this game is a little too generous with legendary drops. I just grinding rep to unlock the Iron Maiden with my Blade Arc Witchblade and i got well over 15 legendaries. And most of the enemies were just regular mobs.

Yes yes, I never said crucible wasn´t good for farming, my point is: Some people don´t enjoy crucible grinding.
Personally I find it rather boring and rarely do it.

Nah.
Droprates have to be casual friendly. Some people don´t have much time to grind.

Never said they weren’t supposed to be casual friendly. My point is that is pretty easy to get legendaries in this game with not much grind.

I’m pretty sure the game already offers a spectacular drop rate for gearing up a casual players all the way to Ultimate. I just know this because, you know, I’ve done it with multiple alts.

Anything more than that, including top gear, perfect stats, full sets, and other niceties capable of moving your character to the top of this game… well that wouldn’t be casual play anymore, would it? That goes against any definition of casual play I know of.

I;m not crazy about it either. But I like GD and that is where you can get challenge if you have the items. (waits for new shattering mod)

But if all you want is farm then it’s worth taking the cruci pill for 1 week and make campaign life easier

You get good amount of drops in the main game but you will never complete any set (some exceptions Krieg Dark One) in a reasonable amount of time, the next expansion has the fix coming
