Hack, Slash, Repeat - Grim Dawn Guild (over 1,200+ ARPG community members)

Welcome to the official Hack, Slash, Repeat FAQ, here you will find out about our guild for Grim Dawn!

What is Hack, Slash, Repeat?

We are not just a guild - we are a public RPG gaming community with completely optional guilds.

The purpose of the community itself is to allow like-minded gamers from all over the world to discuss RPG’s at length, share builds, read reviews and all the latest news relating to the genre. We support all titles from big ones like Diablo 3, to smaller indie titles like Drox Operative and of course, Grim Dawn.

At the time of writing, we currently have a strong guild presence in Grim Dawn, Path of Exile, Diablo 3, Torchlight 2 and Neverwinter. As new game titles are released, we create guilds as required. As older games drop off and interest in them fades, we remove them. The advantage of our community is that you get to stick with a great group of players and move from title to title as games come and go. Having said this though, I think Grim Dawn is here to stay for quite some time :wink:

Why should I join?

By joining our guild, you will have the same general advantages as you would with any well-run guild. Some of these benefits include:

  • To be able to regularly play with a great bunch of like-minded people.
  • Organized events such as questing, farming, PvP tournaments and alt leveling.
  • Item trading for free (hand-me-downs), or at “mates rates”.
  • Build sharing and theory crafting.
  • In game assistance for new players or difficult areas/bosses.
  • A free Mumble server.
  • A free website to communicate on and more…

As Crate Entertainment add further support for guilds, we intend to make full use of everything that is on offer - whether that be guild storage or anything else that will benefit our members.

Some unprovoked testimonials (from our Path of Exile Chapter):

How do I join?

Please start by posting in this thread, then:

Head on over to our website at www.HackSlashRepeat.com. Follow the instructions in the “FAQ” link on the navigation menu. Joining generally takes about 2 minutes, including registration on our forums. There are no forms to fill out.

Events

Generally we will hold regular scheduled events such as questing, MF runs, hardcore league and PvP/PvP tournaments (when implemented).

* Questing
Questing for all levels and difficulties.
* Magic Find Runs
Yes, lots of juicy loot for gear fanatics. Runs of bosses.
* Hardcore League and Hardcore Tournaments
We will be running a Hardcore League division where guild members can quest/grind etc together. On top of this, we will also be running hardcore tournaments. Basically we will allocate a period of time, say a month, to see who can get the furthest in hardcore. Subject to popularity. More details to be advised.
* PvP - Player Vs Player
If/when PvP is implemented we will go to town with this. Regular PvP games and tournaments will be organised. May include prizes. More details to be advised.
* Original Build Contests
We hold regular Build Contests where our members show off their unique ideas.

Still looking for members :slight_smile:

sorry to say this but

you are wasting your time with this, GD doesn’t need a guild, its not a MMOARPG, POE might be better for this

but there are a few things that this will fail in,
you can play the game online with friends / lan and offline
you say that item trading will be free, I guess you don’t realise that once GD is released, there will be modding tools, programs like TQvault that will store items, and add items in, modding will make it easy to add in anything you want

as for build sharing, there going to be that here anyway, as there already a lot of talk on the different masteries, and there are two more incoming later, the Arcanist and Nightblade plus an unknown amount / masteries in upcoming expansions

if I was to play with people via lan, I would do it with those I know through irc, rather then a bunch of people I have no knowledge of

if the game was an MMO, a guild might work, some like POE and D3, and this would work better, but for a offline game, where you play with friends or offline, I don’t see the point of a guild at all,

just my two cents

and ps not interested in joining either sorry

I disagree with some of your points. I’ve been part of TAB (The Amazon Basin) for years and they take on many games like this. They are most known for diablo 2. They mostly played legit as possible but there were often group games which focused on lan parties playing mods

It wasn’t really about glory or pvp, it was mainly about having a steady group of people to play together with, chat to on team speak and just play the game.

It ended up evolving over time to focus on fringe builds and groups of 8 players playing hardcore trying to get guardian with an underpowered, or unthought of build.

Now I doubt TAB will adopt GD because their glory days are pretty much over, they are more focused on general gaming rather than setting up an entire forum and website for a single game like Guildwars and Diablo 2… but they do play PoE as a group all the same they just meet up on their general boards.

Alternatively Diablo 1 is still running many of the legit clans (they are mostly european), they still operate ladders, organized pvp events, etc.

I doubt GD will ever have some major clans or guilds, but I don’t see how an existing established organization can’t adopt it.

He tried over at TQ.net last year and got pretty much the same response.

Time will tell when it comes to guilds and such.

But don’t most people who play online a lot already have that??
