Handmaiden of Solael - melee Witch Hunter [B31]

The handmaiden of Solael is a melee Witch-Hunter that I am currently leveling through Elite. It was made to be Ultimate viable with a fresh start (no stash), and self found equipment only. As such the character utilizes faction equipment, easy to find components, and a low level relic in its build.

Build Concept:
Dual wield hybrid sword wielder with chaos, vitality, poison, pierce, and cold damage capabilities. The build uses nearly all available damage types to maintain constant damage output through all content areas of the game. Since damage multipliers are additive; it’s usually better to add a different damage type than to just worry about upping the percentage of a single damage type.
The only monster that gives the class issues at the moment is the Void Leech due to the high amount of base vitality damage from Omen. This should be mitigated as the character levels as Execution/Shadowstrike are there to deliver cold/piercing damage types at higher levels.

For ADctH leeching we employ dual Omens (both with Mark of Dreeg’s) and can upgrade them to Empowered Omens at level 65. She uses Shadowstrike on the left click, Sigil of Consumption on the right click, as high movement/high damage left click and AOE damage/damage mitigation on the right click. We have three castable spells: Blood of Dreeg, Curse of Frailty, and Ring of Frost. Blood of Dreeg is for minor healing, poison resistance, and physical resistance. Curse is for CC slow and resistance debuff, while Ring of Frost (upgrade to Ring of Steel) is are standard AOE CC.

Stat Points Distribution:

Physique: 29
Cunning: 0
Spirit: 21

We’ll earn enough cunning from mastery (and devotions) to use an Empowered Omen, so the only real stat we need is Physique. We did pump Spirit for overall base damage, but it’s mostly to make sure that Physique and Spirit are at the same level.

Equipment Layout: (at level 50)

Weaponsx2:OmenMark of Dreeg
Helmet:Resistant Heavy Basinet of the HarbingerLeathery Hide
Amulet:Resistant Amulet of Spines
Ring1:Incorruptible Copper Band Soul Shard
Ring2: Vigorous Gollus’ Ring of Vitality Soul Shard
Shoulders:Devil’s Spaulders Silk Swatch
Chest:Devil’s Chestguard Sanctified Bone
Hands:Spellbinder’s Grip Unholy Inscription
Pants:Swampdweller’s Legguards
Feet:Harvest GreavesMark of the Traveler
Belt:Chthonian Thread Sash
Medal:Warding Ribbon of Spellweaving
Relic:Corruption

The equipment heavily uses faction items (Homestead, Rovers, and Devil’s Crossing). We will only work on these three (and the Outcast) for maximum faction rep (as they are easy) and you’ll get the one Augment you’ll need to supplement the resistances (Spellward Powder for Aether Resistance). The equipment has built in upgrades as you get to high levels, and they all have decent resistance stats.

Loving your build! Quick question: do you think it’s worthwhile to add 1 point into Blade Barrier as a panic button?

No Whirling Death?
Stopped reading.

Heck yeah. Go for it.

I will state that I haven’t included it b/c the build hasn’t needed it yet. The build has four deaths to date with three of those occurring in the 1-25 range where you don’t have your four main defensive options in place yet (Devil’s Chestguard, Aspect of Guardian, Possession, and Behemoth devotion).

After those are there you’ll usually find that you have more than enough hitpoints, healing, and resistance to nearly face tank most of the game.

Dejnov.

Man this looks cool.

Haven’t tried anything even close to melee yet but this looks like a fun hybrid. Will attempt to take it into HC real soon!
