Can’t really speak to gear since you’re still in normal. You’ll want to use yellows and greens that compliment your main damage type while covering resists and providing any needed stats. You also need to make sure your weapon compliments your main damage type, which seems to be piercing? You might consider switching to a crossbow type if you can find one with equivalently excellent affixes.

Devotions: I presume you’re going for tree of life/ishtak/monolith since you’re getting a lot of blue and yellow? Just don’t forget to pick up a few offensive things like assassin’s blade or manticore to reduce enemy resists. Assassin’s blade especially will give you good return on investment, as will kraken since you’re 2handing.

Skills: get the second node of flashbang! Fumble and impaired aim are great, they simply negate some incoming attacks. Less Ulzuin’s wrath, 1 point at most in that one unless you’re focusing lightning/fire damage and even then maybe only 1 point. I’ve never used mortar trap so I have no idea what level that should be at, up to you. Ditch static strike, it’s no good until you can fill it up to maximize the chance of lightning damage and you aren’t really dealing lightning damage anyway. Menhir’s will doesn’t work with guns, so remove that. The remaining points can get you towards field command in soldier and eventually oleron’s rage. Also consider picking up blast shield, it is a great defensive option.

Did Menhir’s will used to work with range? I thought it did at one point.

I am killing much faster now by the way, thanks a lot for the krakken rec, I also went ahead and got 50 on demo for more aoe clear.

I would love to get more resists, but I am not sure how too aside from finding gear that has it on it?
Are there crafting recipes or devotions that could help with this?

Looks better! I think you’ll just have to keep your eyes open for gear with the right resists. Faction gear can be a big help, so check out your faction vendors once you get your reputation up, but don’t discount the normal vendors either. They often have very good gear for sale.

You could put a silk swatch on the shoulders for pierce and bleed and ugdenbog leather on your belt for poison and bleed. Components are really very flexible and a good way to shore up missing resists.

Thanks for the advice. I did start a night made just for a change of pace, wow - hardcore veteran is FUN with dual weapon… though I don’t think it is viable for ultimate or anything.

Mortar is great by the way, it has been awesome for picking off caster mobs that stand still and do lots of damage. I also have fissure set to that skill.
