I ask this because I personally can’t see a role that Markovian’s set fills, that Warborn doesn’t do better somehow. I’m sure Markovian’s set isn’t the only set to suffer from being outshined by a more recently-released set, but I figured I would field the question here and see what others thought. What other sets are struggling to keep up? Am I crazy for thinking Warborn outclasses Markovian’s in every way?
I used both Markovian and Warborn with my Witchblade and hardly noticed a difference. Maybe slight more damage, but Markovian is much more tanky than Warborn. So no, Warborn doesn’t outshine Markovian in every way.
I will agree, Markovian makes toons tanky af, but… Take Warborn set, add Siegebreaker or some other really good shield, and Avenger of Cairn amulet (or an amulet of your choice really), boom, probably a better deal than Markovian’s. Markovian has fantastic resists, but I’ve been able to very easily make up for those resists on a Warborn user, and the Warborn user had better OA and damage.
And, to get back to your point about barely noticing a difference - well, is there any circumstance under which you would definitely take Markovian’s over Warborn? When do you think you would actually need the extra tankiness from Markovian’s, and is that something that a good shield and amulet + Warborn could or could not handle better?
I actually prefer using Markovian through all Ultimate. I just feel more comfortable and safe with it, specially against Mad Queen and Nemesis. I overall feel more squishy with Warborn.
Then again, i don’t care much for Warborn set besides the weapon, i think it was a much needed legendary weapon.
