HC SSF Ring of Steel Blademaster Leveling and Endgame Guide 1.2.1.6

you can see each GT link how attribute points was spent, it is not that important. For instance if you see between level 30 and 40 there were 8 points spent in phys and 2 in cunning, just put them in any order you want.

1:1 ratio Physique /Cunning if you like to be a bit more tanky , 1:2 ratio if you like more damage , about Spirit usually just 5-10 points to can equip Jewelrys . Like GIJW mentioned if you hoover your mouse over Grim tools stats you can see how I spend my points

1:1 Physique /Cunning + 10 points Spirit , or if you want more crits and damage 1:2 Physique /Cunning + 10 points Spirit. Hoover my stats with your mouse in the Grim tools links and you can see how I spend my points

Thanks my friend and to mad_lee for these guides. I’m using this for my 2nd hardcore character ever. It’s amazing leveling to 70 considering I have no speed leveling gear for hardcore. Planning to farm blueprints, Dark One’s and Lokarr to prep for Fangs expansion. I didn’t follow the leveling exactly because slightly different SSF gear, but it’s very close. Jumping to Ultimate in a minute, possibly skipping elite except for farming weapons, not sure about that yet.

Build is very strong , you can’t follow the guide back to back cause different affixes but in general if you are close that’s perfect , glad you enjoy it and good luck

It’s a really nice hardcore build, not because it’s a megatank but because it has good sustain and extremely high DPS.

My main leveling difference: I waited to level 60 to switch to Servitor Slicers, farmed 2 level 55’s and a 70 weapon. Ran with these to level 81 on ultimate to Fort Ikon, now plan to farm a pair of 82’s because clear speed is falling off a little and I am not a great pilot. It takes 3 or 4 runs through the Void rift and Mourndale to get adequate affixes on the weapons, which is perfectly acceptable for me at this level. I didn’t plan it this way, just winging it as convenient.

Well guides are not rule books so everyone is free to shift it at any point according to their drops and playstyle , general idea is to work for you and to be easy to follow without hitting a wall and most important to have fun with it

It’s very clunky to play Ring of Steel on the two standard mouse buttons I prefer to use keyboard bind and it feels much smoother

to elaborate on what RS describes
certain types of skills, like RoS natively being a CD skill, will automatically default to using auto attacks when lmb/rmb skill is on CD, if LMB/RMB is held down like normal for spamming, which can both feel but also practically get clunky with mixed animation/attack types.
Having such skill on keyboard completely prevents the automatic filler attacks when on cooldown, even if you’re holding the hotkey down for spam.
Also can be smoother for target moving so your char doesn’t just stop and cast RoS either even if there is no enemy, or if you were moving like with RMB it will sorta move, use RoS where cursor was on ground, move-cast-repeat.

Exactly also because the nature of the arm most people release the auto attack to cast when on mouse button which leads to DPS loss

ok i getcha, that makes total sense, but i do wonder if the side buttons on the mouse have the same issue?

not as i recall, because LMB/RMB are unique interactions/ā€œhardcodedā€ and can’t be mapped the same as other hotkeys. (not sure how it works on a technical level but LMB is the only button that has the automatic/default intermixed move and or attack in 1, which might also be why we can’t map or rebind it to not screw with our char movement)

Just tested this with a Logitech G502 X. A cooldown skill on a side button does not give auto-attacks when the skill is on CD. Ie, it doesn’t act like LMB or RMB.

Why do you guys lump RMB together with LMB in the special category?
I think it has always worked just like 0 - 9. But maybe I’m missing sth.

i don’t lump them together, but certain skills on RMB still walk-attack on the spot/cursor was (sans enemy) where it wont on 0-9 has been my experience
Not saying it’s the same as auto walk/move steer + fluid attack"if enemy" as lmb, but it can still be annoying on rmb if you hold it down too much and it does the walk three steps, attack in empty air, walk 3 steps again

What I see is that if I put a cooldown attack on:

LMB: auto-attacks while on cooldown and moves when there is no target
RMB: auto-attacks while on cooldown but does not move
Side-buttons and keyboard: no auto-attacks on cooldown, does not move
