I’m an avid gamer & developer from the Netherlands. Found out about this game a while ago, but only recently decided to participate in this community, which seems to be amazing thus far.
I’ve played a variety of games in the past, most notable ones: Fallout, Skyrim, Diablo 2, Diablo 3, Path of Exile and am participating in the closed beta of Marvel Heroes since 2 months now.
I used to run a popular stream at Twitch, playing Diablo 3. Main focus of the stream was to provide value to viewers in the form of education with a healthy mix of entertainment. Unfortunately, the game was heading to nowhere and I decided to sell my top 10 wizard. Thus, the streaming came to an halt. From there, the search for an ARPG replacement began.
I started out with giving Path of Exile a shot and although it seemed like it had a lot of opportunity, somehow it didn’t feel right to me. The combat system was unimpressive, felt stiff and clunky. When it came to itemization, there was a lot of micro-management involved, which wasn’t quite my taste either.
From there I moved on to Marvel Heroes with high hopes, seeing as how the originator of the Diablo series is involved. First impression was that it seemed like an ARPG lite. even though there are 20+ characters available, there is not much on-going depth to the game, which becomes pretty stale after a while.
So here I am now, anxious to try out Grim Dawn and get involved with the community. I love to theorycraft, come up with maths and OP builds, and generally like to break things (and then provide the necessary feedback), so you can expect this from me when Alpha hits us.
One question I have regarding the alpha: will there be an NDA concerning this, ie. streaming this game will not be allowed? I would love to showcase this to viewers, but I can understand if Crate Entertainment has reserved thoughts on sharing any information regarding the Alpha with the outside world.
Greetings,
