Help improving a fire templar?

Hi folks,

My first post here. I am looking for some suggestions on how to improve a fire templar I have been working on. It somewhat consistently clears SR 75/76, but I feel like I can’t improve it any more. DPS is around 290K and mostly I struggle to survive, rather than DPSing down bosses.

I would try

  1. Pull some points from Resilience, Arcane Will and Haven
    Put them into Mirror (12/12 and Nullification)

  2. Change relic to Eternity that will reset your

    • Mirror
    • Ghoul
    • Arcane Will
    • Ascension
    • Resilience
    • Dryad (see later)
    • Nullification

    cooldowns

  3. Change Lion + 2 free nodes to Dryad

  4. Bind Dryad Healing to Eor

  5. Bind Elemental Storm to Ground Smash because it has 85% chance to proc it every 3 seconds and Elemental Storm lasts 5

Also skill is also important, properly managing Ghoul and Mirror, knowing bosses etc:


Grim Internals may help with displaying a text in the middle of the screen showing if Ghoul has procced,
cooldowns of various skills like Mirror

Gotcha. What would you suggest to bind on eldritch fire if EoR is going to Dryad? Isn’t the fire RR just too OP to not be bound to EoR?

[edit] I’ve just checked that Ground Smash has 100% to proc Dryad!
With your cooldown it will align perfectly, so

Dryad to Ground Smash
Eldritch Fire to EoR
Elemental Storm to Guardians

However id you’d like one better proccer than Guardian (they’re not that bad since Elemental Storm has a long duration) read further but you would need 1 more skill to use which is kinda meh.

Also I don’t know if you’re ok with using Ground Smash skill because you have Reduced Target’s Damamge in LIght of Empyrion already…

Guardians would be a good proccer of Eldritch Fire if we had 4 of them (2 is too few I would say) because Eldritch Fire spreads from a single point any way and every Guardian has a separate chance to proc.But yeah, 2 is too few.

The only good solution of having additional good procer is a skill from Silvercore Bolts

The skill Silver spread has the following chance for just 1 projectile

  • 51% Eldritch Fire
  • 85% Elemental Storm

which means

1 - 0.49^5 ~ 97% proc chance for Eldritch Fire
1 - 0.15^5 ~ 99.99% for Elemental Storm

Eldritch Fire doesn’t need to be cast over a whole group of monsters because it spreads.
But I don’t know if you’d like to use another skills in your rotation.

There are nice suggestions up there but I have one question, why are you have that much damage reduction from different sources? Have you consider a different route to improve things with some balancing? Yeah flat damage and resistances on LoE are nice but you it is inefficient to have 3 different damage reduction since they are not stacking.

Interesting! I actually didn’t know damage reduction did not stack, only that some forms of resistance reduction didn’t. My bad!

These seem like a good idea too. How do you feel about Giant’s blood? It would only take three devotion points.

From what I know the general consensus is Health Regen is bad and ACDCtH is far better (if you have weapon damage) unless you really build your character around it. Giant is probably to random to be reliable, too long cooldown and and regen value too low.

Your EoR has only 35% weapon damage or something. It may be a problem as I think it scales down the healing accordingly . I think you need to look at some EoR builds and check how they sustain.

Thank you for your suggestions. I quite like the boots you used–I think it is the piece that I need to improve the most from the original build I had. Regarding the Ultos constellation, I tried it before and it is very powerful, but I was having trouble proccing it on bosses, unless it was bound to EoR. But then again, Eldritch Fire is hard to part with :slight_smile:

Maybe change Arcanist to Shaman. Then you’ll have Wind Devil which is an insane proccer :slight_smile:

OMG, maybe he is playing legit like me and unaware of that all those players kinda use tools makes everything easy and quicker…
