Help me in choosing Equipment and Devotion

Pardon for my noobish quesion. I have read a lot posts, threads here and there on forums but still don’t firgured it out with these things … :rolleyes:

  1. About Grenado - Skyfire Grenado.

If I choose Skyfire Grenado for conversion physical damage to lighting damage, then to further increasing Grenado damage, I should choose + % Physical Damage or + % Lighting Damage ( or another way is + % Elemental Damage) Equipments or Devotions? Or … is there other ways?

  1. About Cadence - Discord

If I invest 3/3 Discord for a full corversion Physical Damage to Elemental Damage. So … in order to powers up Cadence Damage (3rd hit), I should choose + Physical Damge, or + % Physical Damge or + % Elemental Damage Equipment and Devotions? … Or we have another ways?

Some posts said + % Physical Damage, some said + % Elemental Damage is good for Cadence - Discord … I’m lost … :confused:

I’m not very well versed in the game mechanics myself but I think I can answer your questions:

  1. % lightning and elemental. Grenado doesn’t have weapon damage so flat (just a number, no % symbol) damage bonuses from gear/devotions don’t help you here. Grenado also has some support for trauma, pierce and fire. So the best way to boost its potency is to stack %elemental as it applies to both lightning and fire.
  2. Both % and flat elemental damage bonuses. Conversion renders % phys damage bonuses from gear/devotions obsolete - no go. Flat phys damage, however, is all go as Cadence is very much a weapon damage skill (flat damage bonuses apply to weapon damage before conversion)

% damage increase applies after conversion, therefore if you convert damage to another type, in your example physical to lightning, you no longer have any need of physical damage bonuses.

The same applies here, if you want to hit much/decent with every hit, you’ll need physical and elemental, if you want only the third hit, only elemental.

Also, as ya_ stated, if you want flat damage added, you need weapon damage stat in a skill. For example, if your gear gives you +25 lightning damage (not percentage), Grenado won’t get that amount, but Cadence will.

Wait a second… so the cadence transmuter only converts the cadence hit and leaves the two hits in between as well as the flat from deadly momentum physical?

discord only converts the actual cadence strike, not the 2 autohits.

but it actually converts any flat physical damage to elemental for that strike. ie. the physical base skill damage of cadence and (via weapon damage) any other flat physical / trauma damage (weapon base damage, bonus from items, bonus from buffs such as deadly momentum)
