So,I decided to start everything from scratch and lvl a vitality FoI apostate, but I feel kinda weak even on elite, any advice?

Looks pretty good to me. I’ve only come up with updating to 1.1.9.2 public test for:

  • Incendiary Casque: increased bonuses to Fire Strike and Flames of Ignaffar to +3. Added 26 Fire damage modifier for Fire Strike and reduced its % Crit damage modifier to 18%. Added 60 Fire damage modifier for Flames of Ignaffar and reduced its % Crit damage modifier to 18%.

  • Flames of Ignaffar: increased Target area cone by approximately 10% and increased Fire damage scaling with rank

and these two gear upgrades:

  • Solael Void Vestments for +2 to FoI

  • Mortality relic for more damage
    (although I’ve just noticed your current relic has temporary 300% damage so it’s not that bad)

you could also try to bump up your %Vitality damage, for example some boots with it + Namadea’s Eye

couldn’t that potentially just be part of leveling with FoI?
it’s been a while since i did it myself last, but after that i tossed it in the same category as PRM of skills i disliked and wouldn’t want to lvl with again - despite other people saying it’s fine
if your gauge on what’s ok vs what feels weak is titled a bit more to one side than the other then that might explain it, since as tqFan says, sheet-wise your toon looks fine

Vitality FoI is an pure endgame build. It’s only enabled by endgame gear. And even then it sucks.

But since you’re stuck with apostate, max RE and ride on that, try to get the RE dagger in those caverns in act 3 (or 4?). Till you get Scepter of Malmouth, turn on that FoI transmuter and max Intensify. But it’s only gonna get harder. Apostate is not a great beginner class.

Believe it or not the fault was my mouse. Apparently my naga is broken and if I hold my right mouse key it can just suddenly stop O-o, I guess this is why FoI was barely doing anything, with all the crazy FX from all the skills I just couldnt see that my channel stops. Using my spare mouse and it works like a charm. FoI actually does very decent damage.

Yeah, FoI isn’t as bad as they say. It was bumped to high tier in especially in the latest playtest updates. Check out this thread for more Flames of Ignaffar - comprehensive feedback - #38 by xOMOCHIx .

Dang, the 1.1.9.2 buff is actually pretty dam significant, they also buffed the decree id malmouth that supports my vit apostate.

Yeah, they buffed decree of malmouth too but even without it at lvl 90 my foi is awesome now

Actually, as an Inquisitor you can get 100% global elemental to vit conversion as soon as aom normal.

I think I’m going to level Aether PRM quite soon, quite curious how it’s going to be.
But I’m definitely very tolerant, enjoying playing not the best stuff and the struggle.

I remember playing Fire FoI and enjoying it but I didn’t finish it, stopped in the middle of leveling.
I have to go back to it because I love burning down enemies with the flamethrower.

yep, i very much think it’s a personal tolerance thing
when you’ve already played with big bonk skills where you just make mince meat of everything and nuke a boss in a couple of hits or seconds, it might be “hard” to get used to the more “slow and steady approach” of certain other skills
tho i’m also thinking if stacking FoI mi mods during leveling that it will feel significantly different than some time back :sweat_smile:
