So a year ago, I started with my first GD character without guides. Needless to say, I was dying all the time (hundred of times?).
Little by little, I asked help on the steam forums and to other players.
Dying a couple times on the Loghorrean on ultimate with every potion active, I still knew my build was fragile - even at level 95 when I killed him - which is why I’m requesting assistance here!
With around 80 resistances overall - minus poison bleeding, you’ll see - and 13k hp I still get the impression I am a glass canon using health potion the whole time when I don’t kite.
Care to help with my character linked? I would like to beat the AoM Boss on Ultimate and thus having one character ready for end game.
So you have to be restricted to some classes to do particular builds?
I thought you could spec and play any duo classes the way you like?
Have a look at the Legendary weapon I’m using: 2H Grenado focused. Exactly how I play my char with flashbang spamming to lower defense and auto attack in between (and putting the mortar right at the start).
There are build, that are better for ranged like purifier or pyromancer. Commando not that kind. U can check the current commando compedium and there isn’t any ranged commando.
This isn’t mean u can’t do it, just ur build will be always lower on performance, then 2 above.
Right now every build can do campaing, so there not much difference, but if u are a more challenger and want to do like crucible, then u may have to consider too change ur build to melee type.
In example. U can use a warborn set on a warlock and do the campaing, but a blademaster or a witchbalde would be better, since the set made to soldier mastery.
And for ur question the weapon that u are using not good.
It looks like your build is currently in a pretty bad place, but I don’t think that means a ranged FS commando is impossible. The Purifier is unquestionably a stronger FS build because it has access to crucial abilities that Commando doesn’t (aura of censure most notably), but Commando has its own perks.
Let’s crack down on a few things first. Your gear is really quite bad, but I assume it’s the best you’ve been able to find thus far, so let’s not change that just yet. First off is skills.
Here is a build having only skills changed: https://www.grimtools.com/calc/eZPlKwJZ
I’ve ditched mortars and grenados, Adversary alone doesn’t make grenado a main-able skill and mortars are only good if you focus on them. Defensive ability reduction from flashbang and MA don’t stack, so I dropped MA. Warcry reduces enemy damage in a massive radius, so I picked that up. More points in the important support skills like oleron’s rage and scars of battle, more points in fire strike, pick up thermite mine and you’re looking better already.
Here is a build with devotions changed too: https://www.grimtools.com/calc/vNQvlMv2
I’ve dropped a few things to pick up more Resist Reduction and more good procs like Fiend. You want falcon and don’t want spider, so you can also get quill and scholar’s light for more elemental damage and all the green you need to get torch. Crown is a must, and I’ve grabbed solemn watcher for more DA so you aren’t a glass cannon.
And finally, here’s what it could look like with end game gear. Note the changed skills due to bonuses from gear: https://www.grimtools.com/calc/mN4qpOm2
The boots are…improbable to say the least, but you can fill that slot with anything that gives resists you need. Stonehide prefix is pretty much mandatory, but feel free to experiment.
This is definitely far from perfect since I just whipped it up in 30 minutes, but it should give you some food for thought in your journey from normal to gladiator 170
If you have any questions please do ask and I will try to clarify.
Oh, I didn’t see you had the mythical version of adversary, thought you had the basic one and skimmed right over it. With Mythical Adversary, the grenado skill becomes much more desirable due to the %Weapon Damage addition.
Also, I also misposted the devotions link so disregard that one and look at the third link for my devotion advice.
