Can anybody please let me know where I can download the AOM expansion? My problem is:
I backed the game + expansion on Kickstarter, got a code when the game was released and have been playing it without any problems. I recently collected the key for the expansion (from Humble Bundle) but have been unable to get access to AOM via GOG Galaxy.
I have been trying to get some assistance from GOG Support (the original game download was from them). GOG Support have so far been unable to help, I’m thinking if I can download a copy of AOM independent of GOG, I can remove GOG Galaxy, install the game and expansion, and get on with playing the game and expansion!
Any constructive advice would be greatly appreciated.
If you download the expansion from a random website, you’ll end up with bugs that don’t appear in the actual game. You won’t be able to install any further DLCs (Forgotten Worlds require AoM) and your game in general might be bugged.
The game is only available from GOG, Steam or via Humble Bundle. I’d check with Humble that you have the right key. Did you check it in your Humble account to make sure you didn’t make a mistake when trying to enter in at GOG?
I think I have the right key from Humble. I haven’t entered the key at GOG, they haven’t asked me to do so, and I can’t see where I can enter it.
I understand this isn’t really your problem, I’m just not getting enough information from GOG to make this work, so I thought I’d ask here. Maybe someone else here has had a similar problem?
Well, the key has to be used to be able to claim the expansion so it sounds as if something’s not right at GOG. What are you actually seeing in your GOG game account for downloads? Can you take a screenshot and post it here?
Is there anything under the More button that may help? Haven’t got my GOG copy installed atm so can’t compare my library with yours.
Also I assume you didn’t originally have the game on Steam and have now bought another copy on GOG. Because if that’s the case the key would only work with Steam unless you did a switch.
There’s Manage Installation under More, this has Show folder (which opens the folder the game is installed in), Verify/Repair (I’ve run this but this didn’t resolve the issue) and Uninstall (I have done this as well, and re-installed after downloading the installer from Galaxy).
I had early access through Steam, and I don’t remember purchasing a copy from GOG - I backed the game on Kickstarter, I think I downloaded the original installer from GOG when the game was first released. Can the game be downloaded from Humble?
I had another look at Humble. My mistake was I didn’t redeem the GOG key. I have done this, AOM appeared in GOG Galaxy and I have installed it. Thanks Medea, I have really appreciated your assistance.
