Sup, names JohnNamikaze. I been an avid ARPG game fan for a couple of years, playing Diablo 2, Torchlight, and Diablo 3 (Kinda sad). I currently preordered Torchlight 2 and a big supporter for Path of Exile as you can see from my avatar. lol
I found Grim Dawn from PoE forums a while back, and caught my interest a couple of days ago when I had nothing better to do. I am planning to support Grim Dawn with the $50 tier or possibly the $85 tier edition in the near future.
I have not check much of the forum yet, but when will alpha possibly launch? Just curious to know, if there is any info at the moment.
Edit: I am also curious about the kickstarter idea since the $50 tier edition includes the “Officer’s Medal in-game accessory.” I am just wondering, if it is still available at this point.
Thank you, jiaco. By the looks of it from the estimation time and when the thread was made, alpha release might come out late September until late November. I may be wrong since the dev can change it at anytime, but the wait is not that long. I think by then, I might come up with the money to support GD.
Since your math seems correct (3+6=9 (Sept) and 3+8=11 (Nov)), I checked and found that the information that is most “up-to-date” is on the FAQ that can be found here: http://www.grimdawn.com/about_faq.php#q12
So when is this game going to be done?
We’re working insane hours to get something playable into your hands as soon as we can. However, we also want to make a great game that will meet your high expections when we release it.
That said, we are currently working towrds a late 2012 / early 2013 alpha but, after all the blood and sweat we’ve invested in this game, we don’t want to rush something out the door before it is ready. I think we all want this game to be a success, so ultimately, we can only say that it will be done when it is done. So please be patient with us; it will all pay off in the end!
I honestly was not expecting alpha in 2012. So this news makes me super happy too. But it would appear to be closer to December than September in any event.
I thought the prospect of been able to alpha test this game late this year or early next was well known? its what I’m super excited for, and to be able to playtest the game, and hopefully spot any lingering bugs or issues would be good too, but anyway, I think an alpha test this early is indeed on the cards, and I dont think this would have been possible thanks to the KS campaign / pre orders / interest and hype that is going around. but I think once there is a solid esitmate on a alpha test, we will see a lot more activity and more memebers joining and more, good times to come me thinks
