I thought i wouldnt be able to get into it - but i was so wrong, what a lovely time waster
I have a few questions regarding things though if people would be kind enough to answer them for me!
Is it possible to reset masteries? 99% sure you cant but want to be positive
Do i need to finish the entirety of the story quests to get to Elite?
Can i skip all the side quests?
I understand loot doesnt have a specific drop area other that certain bosses drop specific items - but other than that epics and legendaries everywhere?
Is it beneficial to wander around and explore?
4 - Loot basically can only drop off a mob that is a high enough level to have it and all areas have a min / max level cap for that area… Otherwise yes and breakables, corpses, chests etc… hope that makes some sense
You cannot reset mastery in game.
To get to Elite you only need to do main mission quests.
You can skip side quests but I would not recommend it, you get game features, crafting, additional loot bags and skill points though them. Also they give a fair amount of faction points and let you farm monsters less to get access to faction stores.
Certain chests have a guaranteed Epic drops, Legendaries start dropping from lvl 50 and beyond.
Wandering and exploring is one of the best parts of GD, you will find side quests, bonus loot and Shrines that give devotions points.
It is not possible to reset masteries, nor points spent in mastery bar nor attributes. You can finish Normal without spending a single attribute point, but if you want to take the toon to Ultimate, you should really plan it out with www.grimcalc.com and maybe look for a build guide or take the safe route and plan to put >= 75% points in Physique.
The main quests need to be completed to get to the end boss and unlock the next level.
You can, but should not (see below and other replies)
Your best sources of loot are boss areas, hidden areas (loot is best on first looting), one-shot chests, and hero orbs (Veteran increases hero spawn rates).
The game is hoping you beat the end boss at level 50 so you can get some legendaries from the loot chests. Reading all Lore/Notes and quests are a great source of XP to help you get there. You will also need to socket gear before certain bosses and to have a good collection of components you should be exploring, finding heroes and one-shot chests as well as hidden areas to maximize your selection. Pay attention to your resists.
No, not possible - though iam not sure if theres a 3rd party editor in the tools section that can do so.
Yep, at least to the boss.
You can skip sidequests.
4 + 5. Unlike in d3 it is beneficial here, in first to find all the dungeons as there are many masterypoints to unlock, in second for there are many bossmonsters in almost every area who can potentially drop good loot.
PS: Always pick up and rightclick the notes you find on desks in houses and such - most of them give nice xp boosts what helps level up faster.
Well i must say, i dont usually read or pay attention to quest dialog but for some reason in this game i find myself doing just that, revealing every area is kinda my thing and im always looking for secret stashes
Oh and another question.
Is it possible to increase the Aoe size of skills or are they generally fixed?
Some skills increase as you put more points into it. The ones I can remember are Curse of Fragility and Sigil of Consumption.
But basically if the skill dont say it increase it doesnt, and there is no way outside of that.
