for a pc game arpg only 350-500 players online is extremely shocking id expect like 50000 what is going on
Why? Grim Dawn is mainly a single player game with some multiplayer added. It’s not an MMO or always online game.
GD is single-player focused game
Doesn´t steam has statistics on how many people play a game at a given time? maybe those would be more interesting here. 
That would be more people than play PoE via Steam, and that is free and forces you to be online… I guess what is going on is that your expectations are completely unfounded, care to explain how you arrived at that number ?
GD is predominantly SP, I pretty much never play online, as does the vast majority of players. The number of MP games reflects that.
Been that way forever, Crucible that is. Most die farm games are afk all the time so that’s a waste. Most people me included don’t care about Crucible just want to leach off the Uber players to gear up all our builds. Haven’t played in some time as my graphics card died but I was hard pressed to find 150-170 Crucible runs from night to night. Some nights yes others nothing. Like others say single player game.
Also the game doesn’t have dedicated closed servers. Zantai had this to say on 25th May.

Yes. I haven’t heard that one before. As the question comes up all the time I will answer it one more time on stream. Dedicated servers would be a cool feature. I think if we were to have it, it would have to have happened when the game was new, when we could actually garner attention for the game and get people excited for the fact there are dedicated servers, there are seasons and all these hardcore multiplayer features. Instead we focussed on a single player experience, that is ultimately what Grim Dawn is about and we’re sticking to that, it’s working well for us. I think dedicated servers would be great, they will not happen for this game. Maybe Grim Dawn 2."
