Ceno’s tier list of damage types (best->worst) (a flat damage type may be ranked higher or lower in consideration of its DoT as well):

1. Bleed
2. Acid
3. Vitality
4. Pierce
5. Physical
6. Lightning
7. Aether
8. Fire
9. Chaos
10. Elemental (special case)
11. Cold
12. Life Leech

1.0.0.7 wouldn’t have changed it too much, although Aether is maybe better than Lightning now.
