How does the community want the compendium to be organized?

Organizing it by classes seems to be best to me, too. If each dual-class receives it’s own post then we need 28 post plus one for the OP (with the table of content linking to each class) and one for odd single- and no-class builds. Well, with FG the 28 posts will apparently increase to 36 (or even 45?).

Most contributors will play with the most recent expansion, but for those who are not, we could use a new tag [vanilla] or [AoM] to highlight their builds. I’d add them to the end of each class’s post.

I would like to expand on this because I often miss core elements, if they are not added to the thread title. Would it be reasonable to add the following as (optional) bullet points to the submission format?

  • Concept - e.g. Primal Strike, CDR, Crit, etc.
  • Build Defining Gear - e.g. the set, a special MI, etc.

I definitely love this suggestion. Now posters are forced to describe the most important parts in the title, but with 2 additional bullets for build core it must be much clearer to understand what “that build” does.
However, this means LOTS of work for OP.

Do you think the tags themselves are good ‘nuff?

My thoughts exactly. Here are a few changes that could ease everyone’s life:

  • There could be a formatted “Description” instead of “Damage” with, for instance, this format: Archetype (Caster, Melee, Ranged, Pet, Hybrid …) - Weapon type (S&B, Dual Wield etc.) - Main Damage - Main Ability - Important/Secondary Mechanic (that defines the buid: CDR, Granted Skill, Notable Devotion, Gear Set-up, 100% WPS etc.)
  • I’d like to see a Gear/Stuff/Equipment field below “WPS”. Not the a full gear list but only the main set used and other notable items if the OP finds appropriate to put them. That way, we can sort (ctrl+F) by Set. I was looking for a Valdun build the other day and it’s hard to find.
  • Is the WPS field mandatory? Always seemed useless.
  • I’d like a MI / Non MI tag like (u) and ©. (m+) = MI; (m-) = non MI, for instance.

Personally (I’m not sure how others make their submissions) I always label my toons with its play style right off the bat.

For example [2H caster] (insert tags here) 2H elemental FoI mage hunter blah blah blah

Maybe what I can do is make thet mandatory? In that get authors to include such core information in the title?

Agree with the WPS line though. Maybe I can change that to core equipment?

P.S veretragna and I were discussing about how the valdun set is so underused the other day. I’m not surprised you struggled finding it.

As long as the belgothian set is around, you’re going to need to be mighty creative to make the valdun set work

Spoilers: I already tested it in Crucible (my variation), it works well. Just re-equipped my old character with top gear.
But full testing and guide are planned on later, I need to level up a fresh character, this time I level it in coop with my wife

Maybe make the bullet point for WPSs optional, but when a build focusses on it, then its useful to have it listed.

Not quite sure how to include the core equipment line on all the current submissions though…

Will noodle on this for a bit

The title should be used for creativity “C’tholaro’Aktalamor, The Destroyer of Worlds and Galaxies”.
Description: Caster - Physical - G&B - Throw Feces

As vertragna said, we need to see “what the build does”.

The label, in my mind, is for 1.0.x.x. Not much room for long explanations in here.

(So for a 2h ranged tactician, Valdun isn’t the way to go? Fragmenting round is so fun and really efficient).

STOP TRYING TO GET US TO LEAK SECRET BUILDS BELZZZ. GOD. :stuck_out_tongue:

I think veretragna and I just enjoy finding unorthodox ways of using set items, and we both happened to come up with very similar concepts.

Valdun tactician will work too, I’m sure. Though ugdenbog boltthrower might be beter

I believe Valdun’s Rifle can carry Crucible alone  Jokes aside, 720% WD shotgun with 100% chance to pierce through and 3sec CD is a beast.

Wait. The skill on the rifle is a WPS???

P.S just realized we are getting sidetracked here.

no mate, set completion is

That’s what I thought. Guess I’ll hafta wait and see the guide to know how veretragna managed to get 720% WD

Looking forward to it man.

^^
Superfluff is right. It is extraordinary even for granted skill

Edit: math is simple. In-game tooltip shows it as 8 bullets shotgun. 8*90% WD = 720% WD without any tricks
