I’m currently at L38 (doing Homestead quests), and know I can get through Normal, but can a pure Arcanist get very far into the subsequent difficulties, or is the game rigged so that you’re pretty much forced to select a second class
at some point?
A class is what you get when you combine 2 masteries really. So a pure Arc is half a class - that said ‘pure’ runs are doable all the way through ultimate, but it’s kinda like you’ve tied one hand behind your back for kicks.
I got tired of it late elite, have go slow wait for mirror not to get one shot by certain enemies.
Main problem in arcanist mastery low hp, balancing hp, resists along with damage from gear becomes tedious
Thanks, guys. I figured if it was possible, it would be tedious given that bosses on Normal can be a pain.
I speced into Nightblade when I was mid 30s during Vet.
With the right gear, ultimate should be more than doable. You will be missing out on some huge damage potential or defensive potential however. You can cover up via devotions.
(One of my mains is a PRM Arca/Occu, and in Occultist I only have CoF and Mend - no trouble surviving, despite the lack of DA and HP. Got capped resistances though. The CoF means a massive damage buff I wouldn’t want to miss out on, but it would be possible without.)
