I’ve built a foundry, a far away iron mine and a close by coal mine. The foundry workers walk all the way to the iron mine to pick up the ore. I built a storage next to the foundry, so the iron ore can be transported to it. Now the iron mine workers walk all the way to that storage to deliver the ore. Now I built a storage next to the iron mine, so the miners can deposit their ore there and a wagon should transport it from that storage to the storage next to the foundry. Now the wagon transports the coal, that is close to the foundry, to the storage next to the iron mine and the foundry workers walk all the way to that storage to pick up the coal.
Please help Is there any way to control, what gets transported from here to there? Do I have even a chance to get this workign efficiently?
Remember you can untick which items your storage buildings will take, try that, maybe the wagons will work.
PS, I knew this for storage buildings, but a small thing I hadn’t noticed (or appreciated rather) until last night is that you can untick meat or fish from the smokehouse, so the smoker doesn’t spend half his time crossing the map to get a fish!
Yes, the items in the storage buildings have small ticks in the top left of the box, so you can set any storage unit only to take certain items. One thing I have learned to do is to be careful to untick the Gold Bars in any storehouse you have which isn’t well-defended, I have been caught out a few times in early games thinking I had seen off a raid with no trouble, only to discover that they took 600 Gold from a storehouse!
The ticks are very small, if you’re having trouble seeing them to untick them you can increase the size of the UI boxes in Settings/Interface
