Quick question, how’s the multiplayer? Online/offline?
The multiplayer does not have dedicated/closed servers and reading from other replies on this topic the devs want to perhaps in the future include such a feature but at the moment it’s outside their budget.
My personal experience with multiplayer will vary from others but my take on it is that there is a too small playerbase currently for it to be worthwhile. It’s also a problem to me personally that everyone has the ability to dupe/cheat/modify their characters which is reflected upon the lack of farming runs being hosted. Many will argue on this point saying that it’s up to everyone’s own playstyle to decide if they wish to cheat or not, but the problem is that it affects the activity on the multiplayer scene.
During the leveling phase you will find plenty of games running where you can level with people if you enjoy playing in a party. But when you reach end-game I got bored quickly because I couldn’t find a decent number of people wishing to do farming runs with me.
This could be solved with multiplayer being online only or have some read-only things applied to it.
I think I have a good solution for this, but I need to clarify my ideas first.
Thank you.
While I don’t do much in the way of mp myself, the times I have peeked in it seemed to me that activity was high and I gather from the reading of reviews and such of others and new players that they enjoyed mp and felt that the “user base” so far was fine.
So, perhaps a bit at odds with his speculation.
How is the difficulty, does it scale well with multiple players?
Is putting it on Veteran the best way to enjoy it?
I did play some Titan Quest multiplayer with 2 friends. But if memory serves it was very easy with multiple players. No I didn’t have the expansion which would have let me use the Underworld mod.
Online only would obviously be a solution, but it is expensive and unlikely to happen for that reason.
Not sure what should be read only, but I doubt this can be any more than what we currently have, it’s not like there are editors out there already. Also, nkthing local is ever truly read-oy, not even online guarantees that
