I have a surplus if items I want to sell (and yes they have been transferred to the market).
When I try to sell, I am told that I need to transfer more gold to the market. I don’t have any. I have a population of 45. My monthly income is 3 gold. I have built a Compost structure that costs me 4 gold, plus I started on a school so I am broke.
Would love some help, I am enjoying the game so far!
Welcome to the forum. 
Sounds like you’re clicking on the Buy button rather than the Sell one. Do you have a screenshot of what you’re trying to do? If so, please post it so we can have a look at it.
