You get the idea…
Physical - white
Piercing - gray
Bleeding - red
Poison/Acid - green
Lightning - bright blue
Cold - darker blue, etc
What do you think?

That would be pretty cool. +1
As long as there is an option to disable
When testing on a dummy I think that would be cool as it would help you under stand the affect of tweeking your setup. But in normal play there would need to be a disable option as that would be away too many numbers on the screen… If they when that route, they’d have to break the current damage displayed up to each damage type. So the current 1 number could easily turn into 6+ depending on the build… On one monster (or a dummy), that might look cool…on a screen full of monsters, it would get crazy!!!
Pretty sure this was a TLGamer suggestion that we all shot down, and I’m going to shoot it down again: no, as it would be substantially distracting during regular gameplay. Above this post you have people saying ‘if its an option I’m OK with it’ but options should be made for things people would potentially like to use throughout the entire game. I don’t see that for this.
Plus there’s the question of how to integrate it sensibly for colorblind mode.
It was mentioned wayyyyyy before that, and everybody pretty much just agreed that GD needs to be completed before that should even be considered. Now…
What if you deal a bunch of damage types at once? I have a Pierce Tri Elemental Saboteur and he deals all those damage types. How would it look like? A rainbow? Or would each damage type appear separately from the main hit?
I think for clarity it would show all the colors separately but it would end up looking like a mess probably.
After reading all posts I must agree. It could look messy. But I liked idea about that feature working on target dummies.
This. Lots of skills have some % weapon damage and weapon damage tends to include tiny bits of various damage types (e.g. chaos damage from Consecrated Wrappings and poison damage from Manticore devotion). It’d definitely be a mess.
I am sure that would look fantastic on my druid using Empowered Conduit, Elemental Exchange and Wind Devil with Elemental Storm.
Sure going to make the game way more vibrant and fabulous.
