Idea for a mod: Base Building.

I want to create a fun mod that pretty much uses the current systems utilized in the game that revolves around an altered faction system and an upgradeable town.

The events of this mod happen just after the Grim Dawn and basically you’ve rescued some refugees and you have created a small settlement.

The settlement starts off very basic however it’s up to the player to grow his settlement by collecting resources, finding refugees, clearing land and building the town. The only goal really is to grow your town as big as possible.

By killing monsters in certain areas you can collect resources like wood, stone and steel to construct buildings. You can also clear farmlands for people to farm the land and support larger populations. Lastly you will need to explore this world to find refugee’s to help defend and collect resources for you. I believe all this can be done fairly easily with the current system in place.

Also there will be “factions” but rather each faction has a faction strength, the more of them you kill, the weaker they will get - thus letting up more land, however over time they will regain their strength, they also fight each other and keep their numbers low this way. This might be a bit harder but it looks like you can affect spawn rates based on faction milestones. Unlike current Grim Dawn progression would not be linear, say you want to collect resources from the mines, as you push deeper into the mines the enemies get stronger so eventually you will need to turn back and level up / get better gear to proceed.

I think if the day/night cycle could be utilized it would be cool to have a thing like farmville meets Diablo gameplay :slight_smile:

Would purely be for end game content, like try grow your town, maybe once your town is maxed there are other towns with more interesting terrain / challenges.
