This is really more of an idea reserved for sequel territory, but what with Forgotten Gods taking us out of Erulan (which coincidentally always makes me think of Amestris from Fullmetal Alchemist for some weird reason), I would love to see some idea of how the Grim Dawn has affected Erulan’s standing in the greater international stage, or if there even is one. It’s implied that Erulan was formed after a war of conquest in the notes from The Necropolis, so what’s up with it’s neighbor states? Were they infiltrated by the Aetherials as well?
On that note, and to delve even deeper into potential sequel content, can you imaged this world fifty years hence, with a Napoleanic Wars/WWI style bend to it, where humans have gone back to fighting with each other? An arcane Napoleanic Wars-esque setting would be an awesome way to show progression in the world’s history and lore. Plus, in case you’re worried that moving the technological markers ahead a bit might ruin things, it’s important to remember that actual automatic weapons were heavy, slow, and prone to failure for a LONG time before the automatic rifles like the Tommy Gun in WWII.
