[Idea] Repeatable quest

Been playing a while, and I just read the post on the upcoming monster totems. Really cool addition to the game and it had me thinking of what else they can do with them and the idea of a repeatable quest came to mind.

What if, along with these monster totems, a mysterious stranger arrived to Cairn that was very curious about your adventures around Cairn? This stranger would only bother talking to you if you were a very experienced adventurer and had many stories to tell (be level 100). After a player hits level 100 he will be able to talk to the stranger and either tell him a story or perhaps listen to the stranger’s story. Either way he will reward you with a peculiar item (an offering) for your time, this item will have flavor text giving the player a hint of where they should look. The player will have to hunt down a specific totem and give the offering to then summon a nemesis boss (it would be cool to have unique bosses for this, but lets be real). The nemesis you spawn will depend on what offering the stranger gives you. If you do not have the nemesis unlocked you wont be able to summon it.

Now the part that makes it repeatable. Once the player finishes the quest the stranger tells them to stop by again, or to come back once they have more stories to tell, something along those lines. What if once a player hits level 100 and completes the stranger quest for the first time they unlock their exp bar again?..and to reactivate the quest you need to fill it up again and visit the stranger.

Not a bad idea by any means, but don’t we already have repeatable quests in the form of Bounty boards?

Thats true, I guess i just meant a new repeatable quest.

Basically you repeat the same quests on different difficulty levels and bounties are repeated too.

Cool idea will be random generated tasks but game have bounties, so that’s enough. You can put your Fettan mask and do them :smile:

Yes, I know there is repeatable quests already in the game. What I’m suggesting is a new one involving the new monster totems and a way to make exp post 100, even for people with maxed devotions, worthwhile to get.

@Zizou And what happens after the Experience bar fills up again? What do we get? They’re not going to raise the level cap again, they’d have to do rebalancing and make a new item tier, and that’s not going to happen.

Not saying the entire idea is bad, but parts of it definitely need to be replaced with something better.

@Nery I am ashamed to admit it took me this long to get the Fettan mask joke. Even having been told what it was supposed to be referencing.

you must’ve just skimmed through it, the last sentence explains what will happen.

It would appear that I did, in fact, miss that.

Thing is the devs want your character to be finished and not continually gaining yet more XP/levels.
